I am working with a cue maker that also provides woods to other cue makers, but his selection of woods is very limited to what he produces himself and a couple very common woods like ebony and bacote that he has. I have one of his cues that plays excellently but I want a more forward balanced cue.

He has agreed to do it using bubinga, hopefully waterfall bubinga but does not know where to source the wood and has asked me to either provide the blanks or point him where to buy it.

Could someone please point me in the right direction to do this?

Edited. The Google suggestion is a good one! Also searching this forum.

This seems useless, but as a reminder there are some rules posted at the top of this forum and one of them reads:
"Supply sources can be asked for, but all replies should be sent in the form of Private Messages. This protects our cuemakers supply sources from the general public. Almost no industry shares their wholesale sources with their customer base. So in fairness to our cuemakers we ask that this type of information be handled through Private Messages."
But you all knew that, didn't you?

A Close look and a Google search will reveal ALL the replies were for RETAIL sources.

But you are spot on as far as the bigger picture is concerned.

This is supposed to be a place for questions to cuemakers about cues.

NOT a place to learn how to make cues.
Not a place to find out where to get parts.
NOT a place to learn how to search the internet.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for starting a slightly inappropriate thread. Going different direction anyway with the cue maker.

Why are you being angry? I do think it's a rather valid and innocent enough question. And you will just bring in more business to a good supplier and more choice to the end user (buyer).

Funny - that in the land of free basic knowledge is not considered free!
Yes, I had to post that

Cheers, be merry.

MG,
I don't make the rules here, but I have no problem following them. In return I get useful information.
So you advocate not following any of the rules of the forum, or simply following those rules that suit your personal fancy?

There was nothing wrong with asking the question, but,
this sub-forum does have some 'special' guidelines.

I, and the others who posted information, should have communicated that information
via PM.

That's weird.

I mostly learned how to make cues and where to buy parts just reading the archives here. This blatant disregard for the rules and intent of this sub forum appears to go back to day one. Maybe the purpose of this sub forum is not what many seem to think it is. Maybe no one other than the hall monitors have ever digested the rules. Maybe it has morphed!!
