Which cuemakers build thinner handle cues?

Can you list the maker along with the specs for the handle end dimension and the joint dimension.

If you don't know the dimensions just list the makers name.

I want to order another custom cue but need it to have a thin handle.

If you know a maker that can do a thinner handle say 1.24 or smaller list them too.

I had a really nice Bender cue a few years back that I sold. I don't remember it having a thinner handle especially 1.21 diameter. Is he building them thinner these days as standard? I had all 3 of my Zinzola cues built thinner too and regret selling 2 of the 3. Any idea of build time with Bender as I won't wait years for a cue as life is too short for that?

Any custom cue maker worth his dime can make a cue with 1.240 bottom and keep the handle relatively slim. And still keep the forearm stiff.
All he has to do is to have a separate conical taper for the forearm and a gradual handle taper.
 
Diveney has the thinnest handle of any cue I've played with. Fantastic players as well.

I think Southwest has a thin handle option on their customs, but I'm not sure how thin. Not to say you're going to be able to get a SW custom any time soon, but I'm sure there are plenty floating around out there with the thin butt design.

Pete Tascarella can also make you a cue with a thin butt if requested.

Conversely, if you like the thin butts stay FAR away from Blackcreek. Really good hitting cues, but very chubby around the midsection.
 
Dunkel has some thinner handles, so can Mike Gulyassy are just 2 off the top of my head

You may not consider Schmelke a "cuebuilder", if not you should reconsider. My full splice bocote true sneaky pete is .82 or 21mm at joint. At the bottom of the butt it is 1.20 or 30.48mm. The butt is 29" and 14.0 oz with a .9 oz bolt. With a standard 3,8 oz shaft the balance point is at 18.75". The cue plays phenomenal, and not just because it's mine! Hope this helps you

This is the bottom line...custom would be how thin you want the butt also.

...I had a thin-butt Schon by luck of the draw...was keeping it for myself even though I
like butts that flare a little ...Hoppe style.
But some punk stole it off me and won the 2004 world 9-ball with it....:eek:

1.21 is standard Kevin, don't know how long. I have 2 in stock just received. It had been almost 5 years since last cues came in. I don't think Mike is able to work on the cues other than part time. They are totally master built though.
 
I don’t know the exact dimension but a Leon Sly I had built last year was on the slim size. Beautiful cue but too slim for my taste.

Would that of been busty? Or maybe Alex? I know Wu was 05/06? N Reyes was 01 n Strickland was maybe 02-03 whichever year Strickland was busty was the next year but I believe I have the players of that five year gap right just not sure on the years

My Tibbitts is a super-thin 1.125 at the very bottom and is thin through the handle as well. The joint is normal. This is by far the thinnest cue I have ever owned, but it hits great.

My understanding is that it was ordered this way and that Danny's cues are generally more 'normal', but at least you know he would built it thinner if you wanted it that way.

The best I ever seen him stroke was a year later when he won the US Open 9-ball.
..it was pure, even on the longer stroke he breaks with.
Alex was certainly showing his potential as an alrounder...
...early 2000s, he won a 9-ball, 8-ball, 10-ball, and a one-pocket tournament
...all in about 10 days.
