Who are the nicest and most friendly pro pool players in the US?

To address the OP's examples, Varner and Archer are great to be around. Johnny is the more approachable and jovial of the 2, but Nick is genuine and just a good guy. My vote goes to Stevie Moore. Can't imagine a nicer guy. Took my son to a clinic Stevie did in 2009, and the guy comes over to talk with us every time we see him at a tournament since. Took my son to the Ultimate 10 Ball in Frisco, TX a few years ago (he was 10 at the time) and Rodney, Alex, Corey, Thorsten, Shane and Jonathan Pinegar all treated him like a prince. Though he's not as active these days, I'm sure many people could argue that Buddy Hall might be the most pleasant person on the planet....

Almost two pages and my man Bart can't buy a vote.... LOL. Agreed on OD.

Tommy Kennedy spots them all the 8 in being the nicest US player

TK from FLA does give weight to all the others as friendliest player.

Bartrum is great,Saw, as is Klatt, Stevie, Johnny, Nick, Robles, Rodney,
Ralf, Efren, etc.

These standout from the ones I've associated with, OP. I'm sure I left
a few out. Don't get me started on a few others that have opposite
characteristics, even though a couple of them were mentioned in this
thread already as friendly.

Massey, Varner and Archer.

Years ago, Mike Massey walked in our pool room unannounced. He was in town for an exhibition for a private corporation later that evening. He sat around with us telling road stories for a couple of hours. He would get up about every ten minutes and do two or three trick shots just for fun.

His passion for the game is endless!

Stones

I've met a few, but the ones that stand out in my mind are Max (had the pleasure of picking him up from the airport as a favor and it was instant, he kind of pulled a stunt later that week but that doesn't really take from the first impression). And without a doubt Tony Robles.

I can't speak for who I haven't met and who you may of but he's my hands down champ. Darren is pretty up there too, right in with Max for out the gate attitude. Kind of people that makes you wish you knew them better or more personal.

But the title of Zeus would be Mark Gfeller

Unless they have me completely snowed:

Tony Robles
Max Eberle
Keith McCready

I haven't met that many yet being overseas but I had a real nice chat with Nick Varner
and Earl when they were over here for the Hangelar open.

Earl really liked the line of custom cues that we have built espescially for us and Nick and I
chatted for maybe 10 minutes about business (we both sell cues) and health and such.

I have also exchanged many pm's with John Schmidt and he was always very polite.

gr. Dave

I second Nick Varner, we were sat at the bar at the Hangelar Open 2013 and chatted for a good while about cues, pool and golf :) Efren was there that year as well, but he just looked so tired, there was a constant stream of people looking for photos and autographs, he smiled throughout, but also looked like he could do with a proper night's sleep.

Johnny Archer was there last year, he was friendly and approachable as well.

The two top players from the Netherlands, Nick van den Berg and Niels Feijen are great lads as well, both very friendly and approachable away from the table.

Currently Tony Robles, Mike Davis, Brandon Shuff. Deceased former friends George "Ginky" Samsouci & Steve Gumphrey who had the same common trait of being 2 of the nicest guys I've ever known but once on the table were very fierce.

Top level pro... John Schmidt, Mike Davis, Brandon Shuff

2nd Tier Pros... Matt Krah, Bobby McGrath, Brett Stottlemeyer, Shane Winters

I found Dennis Hatch to be friendly on many occasions. Oscar was just the opposite, very rude and interrupted when his father and I were speaking, and he does this in Spanish.
