Funny, huh? Not anymore...why, because he does not play anymore? In case there is any big action for him, he will start playing lickity-split...any takers from Maryland? Ain't no one in Maryland he is immune to.

Dave,

You would put Nelson in there over Ruberto? Just curious because I haven't seen Nelson play in a long time.

That wasnt a list in order I thought I was replying to a question of where these people where.

But since you brought that lovely question up here goes lol.

First of all YES I would put Neslon over Reburto, Nelson at one time was the next big thing in pool (somewhat like shorty) in the area. But things happen or should I say habits happen. Anyway when nelson is around and on his game he is one of the best and should beable to give Reburto the 8.

But as I am writing this I am trying to think of a list but being out of the action for the last 6 to 12 months has killed me so I cant tell you who is playing well and who isnt lol so I am not even going to try lol.

Gotcha! Agree that when Nelson was playing a lot, he was one of the best. Just haven't seen him in a while.
Are you still playing APA? I actually resigned my captainship and have taken a session off. Just getting bored with it and really sick of being out until 1 in the morning at some dive bar with one table.

I was in a pool league that had to play Tommy Stephenson, Ward (Middletown Whitey) Stephenson, Frank Ruby, Rick Carrelli, and Joe Brown. It wasn't fun losing that often, but I sure learned a lot. They were a bunch of great guys who answered all your questions and offered advice freely. Of course they were always ribbing each other about thier games. It was a lot of fun. That was the year that Tommy finished 3rd at the Derby City Classic in 9-ball...

Hey Dave,

Totally forgot about Ruberto and I almost put Mike Mini in there instead of Ransom. Probably should have. The list isn't in any order and I do agree that Shorty is the best player on the list. Revised list in order:

Tom (Shorty) D'Alfonso
Marty Herman
Jarrod Clowery
Tony Ruberto
Nelson Oliveira / Mikey Minichello

Dave

To all Boston Pool Players:

I seen this guy name Joey play at Renaissance Billiard Club (Quincy MA) tonight. He has a really strong game. How does he fit in those list of names?

Little Joey D lol he shoots a good game but nothing like the people on this list.

Joey is a very good shot has a great stroke but is not consistent and doesnt have some of the skills the others do.

I normaly play in that tourney just havent been playing in a long time so havent been around there. BUT I was there a couple of weeks ago and knocked Joey out of the tourny. (He was really drunk lol)

When did Justin move to this side of the river?

Hell, I'm so out of touch - I thought he was from Missouri. I thought he was from Farmington or some place near there.

Best in Texas?

Jeremy Jones-Charles Bryant-David G-- John Drew doesn't play anymore. Gilbert has moved to Las Vegas. Bob Vanover is not very active anymore. Little David is very busy playing Daddy. Who knows where Little Al is. But there is a new kid on the block by the name of Jui Lung Chen. There is another player by the name of Manny Chau making a lot of noise down in these parts lately. We also have a youngster named Sylver Ochoa!

What about CJ ???

Its Funny

Corey is a good friend of mine and he has earned the right to be on top for now. you gotta give props where due.

I think its so funny that Shawn considers himself so good when he has ducked and ran several times from an even game with Bruce Berrong. I realize hes done pretty well lately in tournaments , but put up some cash or shut up! I mean come on, someone that fancies himself as a world class player should be able to play someone that never hardly plays and goes out several times a week in an even game.
