The Philippines top guns (Reyes, Bustamante, Manalo and Orcollo) are not participating this year. However they still have Alex Pagulayan and Ronnie Alcano so I would not count the Filipinos out.

I was thinking of Efren but since he is not there, I am choosing Alex Pagulayan to win again this year with Alcano as the dark horse.

Shanes pick

He's so out of stroke I bet he doesn't even show up!
Small bet though, keep it friendly, couple hundred maybe?

I'll pass ;)

Joe,

Call me tomorrow or when you get a chance, need to place a new order.

I'm gonna take a slight underdog and go with Larry Nevel to win. He's been playing great the last couple months and I just saw him this weekend at my local pool room and he wasn't missing a thing! Sure, the competition wasn't very strong, but it didn't matter when they barley got to the table.

I'm gonna go with Po-Cheng kuo, most wouldn't have him in their top 3 but I really think he might surprise a few people.

Who I would LIKE to win is either Earl Strickland, Shannon Daulton or Nick Varner.
Who I THINK will win, I have no clue. The talent level is so deep nowadays that I would guess a full 10% of this years field has a realistic chance. Said another way, I think there are about 15-20 players who can realistically win. It's my opinion that in the years gone by, you would have about 10 guys who would have a legitimate chance.

Rodney-will take 14-1 and give you the field if anyone is interested.

Shane ...the SD KID

I like his action in this event..........how big of a factor is racking own balls going to be? and breaking from the traditional spot?

Pretty big. In the two matches I watched, I saw the nine ball go in a total of 4 times off of the break. Robb Saez made it twice in a row and nearly made it a third time.

I think Lee Van Corteza has a good chance of winning.

A great darkhorse pick, hopefully Lee will be sticking around the US for a little while so that everybody get's the opportunity to see him play.

Based on how they're racking and breaking I like CORY DUELL. The absence of 4 of the other top 20 (maybe 4 of the top 5) players also strenghtens his case. RODNEY is my 2nd choice.
