Who Has Run 5 Racks Or More

Ive ran a 5pack in 9ball once, other mostly 2packs.. bit rubbish considering what everyone else is saying.
Now I practise 12 ball, open table, run oput quite a bit, but I need more time! :(

Ran 4 packs twice this past week.

Do never forget --> Earl has stringed 11 in a row for a million dollars...

Not exactly...

I have never run 5 racks of 9 ball before, but once I did break and run, make the 9 on the next 3 consecutive breaks (like instant replay, 1 in the side, 9 in the corner), and break and run to win 5 consecutive games. It felt great.

One thing though, is that I did not play 9 ball growing up....only snooker. I have had several century runs in snooker over the years. All of this is relative, though, as I have been playing over 45 years, so my ratio is not that great.....and none of the century runs were done with these old eyes and these bifocal glasses.....

The key to running out consecutive racks (outside of not missing) is the break. When ever I have put these runs together, it is because I found the spot on the table where I can make balls consistently. I also don't crush the break, I hit it hard enough that I spread the balls, but I can still keep control of the cue ball.

This is probably nothing new to most of you, but it may help someone else.

I have run 6 consecutive racks of 8 ball on an 8 footer from the break.
The opponent plugged in $3 and never got to shoot, lol.

I have run 5 in 9 ball, but the first one was a screwy 1/9 combo, with 4 BR's to close out the rest of the set, race to 5, on 9 footers.

Just once. It was in a small money match (race to 5 for $100) against a very good player that I have matched up with several times. Made the 9 on the break twice. Combo'ed/caromed the 9 twice early in the rack. Ran out from the break once (about 7 balls if I remember correctly).

Winning five games in a row is a great achievement, but the way you did it does not amount to running five racks. Break, then pocket all the remaining balls in order; that's running a rack of 9-ball.

As impressive as Earls run is, Johnny Archer ran 13 and out against Bustamante for cash. That would have been something to see! :)
Personal, Ive strung together alot of 4s, kept coming up dry on the break in number 5 though.

Take a 5-pack anyway you can, they don't grown on trees.

Racks Ran

I once ran 9 racks of 9 ball on a nine foot table in the early 90's. This included one 9 ball on the break. And 9 ball was/is my weakest game.
I have also ran 9 racks of 8 ball on a seven foot table which I felt was toughter because there is less playing area available and more balls on the table to work around.

Presently I am at only four racks.

Don't play nine ball much, but ran a 15 pack. Played straight pool 5 times, I ran 706 balls in a row, then I had to quit because it was time to go to school. I am in the 5th grade, I think before I hit high school I should probably be spotting the world the last four. Both of these runs were done on a 10 foot quadrouple simmed diamond table.

LOL, just bullchittin..........but this is how a lot of the posts sound to me. Just sounds like a bunch of geeks making stuff up. I mean, call me crazy, but if I could do some the things the people on here claim they can do, I wouldn't be advertising it on a public forum.

I have run 4.5 or 5 racks a time or two on 9 footer and bar box. Only run a little over 50 in straight pool. Ran 3 in 8 ball several times. Ran 3 rack of 15 ball rotation on a bar box once.

5 pack and out vs Dee Adkins in 99---he was on the hill

race to 11 in 2 innings vs Steve Kukendahl in 90 or 91

5 from the flip and then 2 to win the match vs AJ Bernard in 89

Johnny Archer put a 9 on me in 89

Getting lost (on occasion) in the land of dead stroke was fun---I've tried to find it again but I don't think you can get there from here....map quest doesn't help

forgot one---5 or 6 (i really can't remember ) vs Alley Oop--he put a 5 on me from the flip--came up dry--and we were tied or I was one up when he shot again---then it was on....

played Ok for someone that stopped playing for a living at age 20 but not good enough to beat the PLAYERS. Played FARGO at least 20 times and NEVER won---can't remember him EVER missing a ball (on bar tbls). LOTTA FUN!!!

Bar boxes should count if it is 8 ball. If 8 ball on a bar box counts then I've done it. :D
I do not play 9 ball very much my game is 8 ball and play it on bar and 9 footers !

I have seen my late uncle run over 100 balls in straight pool which to me is the ultimate challenge ! according to the record books he ran 274 in a match ! Sadly I was not there to see that.:)

I wish I could have been a student of your uncle's. Straight pool is my favorite game. Most the great straight pool players have long passed but not forgotten.
