who has the best stroke in the world ?

Definitely neither. They, along with Larry Nevel, have the most powerful strokes in cuesports, but not the best strokes. A great stroke consists of power, finesse, touch and an accurate delivery of the cue ball.

Best stroke today might just be that of Jose Parica, although his is not quite on a par with that of Steve Mizerak in his prime.

To sum it all up, when talking about 'strokes' in pool, the subject is purely subjective.. You have Hopkins jumpy short jab, Mcready's awkward looking side arm, Sigel's 'lunge' right after he shoots, or dozens of other top players, who tend to look like they are just learning the game.

Can't help but compare them with Jim Furyk or Arnold Palmer's stroke (ie; swing) in golf..Both look like they took lessons from Rodney Dangerfield, in Caddyshack!..Yet there are hundreds of pro golfers, with picture perfect swings, who would trade them in a heartbeat, for Jim or Arnie's W/L record!

The exact same thing is true in pool!..If you want to break it down to who has the most powerful, or best looking, that is an entirely different question!..Effectiveness, success, and W/L record, are the only real criteria in any game..Anything else is in second place!

PS..Also, why would anyone want a stroke like Efren's, if they couldn't be any more successful at pool, than John Barton? :D

Jimmy Matz.... (for those who remember!!!)

The person I believe who had one of the best strokes ever was Jimmy Matz...
You had to see it in person to understand... too bad he is gone BUT the magic he could do with a pool cue was something to see... control, English, spin, etc you name it he could do it.... those who knew Jimmy would agree as many believe he was one of the BEST money players to ever pick up a pool stick!!! I also like Efren Reyes, Buddy Hall, The Miz, SVB... to name a few.... :-)

Not too many have more power or shoot straighter

who shoots that in a tourny lol.

This isn’t a hard shot at all. On a sleek table, a lot of players can do it, but it has to be with new cloth new rails. I asked Corey to do it again and he couldn’t do it in a slightly worn cloth.

The Miz was smooth!

This Gentleman, Roberto Rojas from Mexico has had one of the Best strokes in the cue games for over 40 years.

He makes it look effortless.

I have to admit, not to brag. Mine wasn't too bad back in the day.

BTW, "I" Never used Any foreign substance on the balls.

That's funny about 2yrs ago me and about 20 other people around the table watched him do it first try even better than the video and it wasn't new cloth

Thanks for sharing that video! Great to see for learn also :)

At one time, I would have said Allison Fisher. 😎

Who has the best stroke? He/she that wins the most tournaments and money yearly and over the course of
their career. Pretty and technically doesn't mean diddly squat in the entire scheme of things unless the results and records are there. Same in golf.

decision making / percentage play, mental fortitude etc isn't the same as stroke

Is there a specific stroke test that I'm unfamiliar with? Who grades it? What is the criteria? Is it subjective or objective?
How about a panel of judges like a Miss Universe or Miss America pageant only for pool stroke beauty competitions?
Would you go along with the panel of judge's decision or cling to your own?

You determine the Best cue games stroke by the player, "That achieves most accurate amount of effect on the CB with the least amount of effort."
