My boy, Cotton, use to play pretty sporty when he lived in Memphis in the 70s but haven't seen him play since he moved to the Hollywood Hills.

Ah yes, Cotton. He used to play that 1-Pocket real good. Got the chance to play with him when he was a house pro at the Plush Pocket in Laguna Hills (no longer there). That was probably 15 years ago. I don't think he plays much any more but I did see him at last years Swanson tournament.

Cotton is a good friend of mine. He was and is very good player. I don't want to give out too much info. He has move from Southern California to another part of the country. He is fine and doing well.

One could logically ask exactly why you, "Need To Know"?

Doesn't much matter, as someone on the thread already said he still plays very well, effectively "killing his action".

Of COURSE this guy, or someone he knows is trying to match up with him.

Which is probably not going to happen now, because everyone's a lock artist. If it had been me, I'd have said (to this TOTAL STRANGER who never came on the forum but to look for info on player) that Leblanc played sporty 20 YEARS AGO, but I haven't seen him play since.

Grrrr.... Pool hall detectives... GACK!

I Think It Was At "Gary's Triple Play" About 1980

Is this the 'Cotton' that was hanging around New Orleans about 25 years ago ? How old a player are you talking about ? Hemi ?
Doug
( I once got 'picked by a cotton' in New Orleans instead of the other way around )

Btw, I've been beat by the best of 'em AND... the worst of 'em. They always cast out a nice shiny lure with a 'spot' attached and I rose to the bait like a bass from under a lily pad. I've been hooked deep and released to bite again another day many times and I have the scar tissue to prove it.

cool guy, i knew him from Hollywood Althletic club-it was a great pool room in the late 80's to earily 90's then they turned it into a night club, Cotton was the consultant for "Pool Room Junkies" he has been a player for probably 40 years.

Same guy, Doug. Cotton used to have a head FULL of white hair, ala, Cotton. today he checked up a bit short on that count.

I Think He's Planning A Sneak Attack

When you post on a Sunday, you need to give the weekday people a chance to read and respond to your thread before simply starting a new thread. Spreading the threads will get you less information and not MORE... imo

( I think if you just belly up to the table and play him like a man, your questions will ALL be answered )

Yea, but you've got to understand, Smorg, he is probably looking to play $50 sets. When you play that high you gotta know these things.

Where's my umbrella?

ur right hemi, if he's ur buddy u do have a right to know, i supposedly live not too far from where he's staying now, i figured maybe i'd drive down and see whats up, and i'll be honest, i want to know what i would need from leblanc. Here's something to think about: cliff joyner gives me 11-6 $400 a game, we broke even, roadman justin gives me 10-8 $2000,$3000,and $6000 set, i'm up in games but he's up in money, lil jon gives me 10-8, he beat me out of $1600, so if thats enough info. about how i play and how much i'm willing to bet...i'd appreciate it if someone could help me out so i could get a decent game with this guy...A Gamble!

Have you asked him to gamble? I haven't heard of him playing anyone for years.
I believe he took over a pool hall back east somewhere. He doesn't play near the caliber of the players you mentioned. If you can get him to play for these kind of stakes playing even you would be doing well. I don't think he would play any of the players you mentioned with those spots for that kind of money. Good luck.

Bobby could play once upon a time, but he hardly plays anymore. It sounds like you're a seasoned player, so why don't you just get up and play. You're probably the favorite over him now. And after you play a few racks, you'll know where you stand.

He isn't going to bet that kind of money anyway. The only times I've seen him in action in the last 20 years was for 100 a game or less. He was a road man many moons ago, like in another lifetime.
