Who is the best Staker/Backer in the country?

I would LOVE to hear about the match between Jack Cooney and Toby Sweet???

PLEASE tell me who won and any info you have on that match because it had to be an all time Classic!!!!!

Kid
Dynomite

That'd be Toby Flaherty and Jack Cooney. Jack got the $$$.

ok chips in your prime you were the best.
but will the wife let you bet 25000 a set i dont know.

Now you know he doesn't roll like that....... The pimp hand is still strong. Having a kid and being a good dad keeps you close to the house.

You're gonna make him mad, get him out of retirement and show the world who's the stakehorse champ.......... How did he used to say it?!?!? "I am betting the middle and I AM THE RAIL!"

Ok you got me. Wife said I can go on a road trip if somthing is lined up for sure. Only one catch, we gotta bet something. I cant go rambling around Kansas looking for $5k sets. Not trying to high roll anyone, but you know how impatient I get and then we will get out of line. Get your boy Scott Frost to play you even 10 ball for a big number. Everyone on here will bet on Frost and we can cover that too. Get something start you sack

Lol! Is that what I said? Those guys had me on tilt for sure. Oh the good ole days. I havent been out of the house on a road trip for 3 years and that was just a weekend thing to St. Pete. Bartam has goaded me out of retirment now we just have to find a fair game. Any suggestions?

Now that I think about it it was more like "F**k all those nits over there, don't give them one single bet, I"M THE RAIL!". Now that Bart has a good table to play on in a room that's not in the hood you shouldn't have to travel far. Frost has a guy in Columbus that will bet pretty good on him, so Freezer pack your bags....

If you're really a true gambler and the best staker/backer in the country, I'm looking for a stakehorse.....

Jack did get the $$. Toby had quite an entourage and there was quite a bit of side action. Toby was 6 ahead the first night in a race to 8 ahead. I thought that Jack was dead but as I was leaving Little Al Romero told me that Jack would come back. He said that Jack was a "War Horse". On the 3rd day Toby's wife had some kind of seizure that delayed the match. Jack won on that same day. Talk about a "Grinder" Jack was the King of grinders.

While Mark was around Hard Times there was all kinds of action. He was pretty darn cool. He would fool around and play some but he would always get a hand span so he could never be hooked. Many a roadie came through HT during those times. After Mark headed for Louisiana things at Hard Times were never quite the same.
