Who is the man to beat for each discipline?

That's only one pool game where I may be the best, but it is the most important one to me. I've been knocking 'em in for over 30 years backing players and betting the rail.

BEST HANDICAPPER - Jay Helfert

By the way, if someone wants to stake Thorsten to play Dennis 500 to 300, I will stake Dennis. Name your bet. And I think Thorsten is the best 14.1 player today also.

That can be Action Challenge IV or whatever.

And if some over there wants to stake Mr. Yang against Shane at Ten Ball, Race to a Hundred and spot him twenty games on the wire, you can name your bet too. I don't know who staked Yang against Dennis, but you can bet the whole twenty grand on this match if you like. Winner breaks.

You can consider these both open challenges which will be backed up with cash money on a one day notice. The date and location to be determined. We could play either one right after the WPC in Manila.

I don't really think anyone can answer this question accurately, because anybody can beat anybody on a given day. Nobody is a "champ" for years upon years, like Mosconi in the 40's & 50's. Just because you beat someone in a tournament, or gambling doesn't mean you're the best. You're only the best THAT DAY. IMO there are far too many good players to be able to make judgements that have any validity.

I think this statement is true except for one pocket. Efren has stood the test

jay, sorry, but it won't happen. I've tried, too, till I was blue in the face. I even went as far as to say that its not gambling if he was playing on someone elses dime.

I should add, though, it was said with the complete abscence of woofing or attitude. Just an educated, matter of fact, statement.

Thanks Randy. I know it's all conjecture on here anyway, until the respective players are communicated with. But, it does make for good conversation sometimes, until all the woofing begins.

When I make a post about a prospective match, it is just that, an offer to make a game happen. Nothing more, nothing less.

As far as Dennis and his "new" game of 14.1 are concerned, I would try to match him up with anyone who will spot him 200 to 500.

Efren may play "jam up" 3c, but he's not world class, don't kid yourself

he'd need a spot from the top 25

Where did Scott say Efren was world class 3-c player?
Balkline, Efren might be world class there if he keeps playing it.
Joey~Saw Efren play 3-c upstairs at Hollywood Billiards with a Meucci ~

I'm not Jay, but I'd be VERY surprised if he said yes to this question. There are at least two players just in Illinois that I would pick over Ike in bank pool. Not to say that Ike isn't a very strong player; he certainly is.

I LIKE IKE! Who remembers that one?

But not in Banks. So my answer is no.

Remember it WELL! Along with Stevenson's shoe with the hole.
