I doubt very seriously that anyone would reply to this, it would start a flame war and we have one of those going as I type this.

This has also been addressed in the past to no avail. I thinnk that if you have had a bad experience, then post it as just that. Be prepared to get both negative and positive feedback...

Let the more coming now instead of going on a fishing trip with your thread title.

Good luck.
If someone is screwing you over don't you think it's a responsible thing to let your friends know to beware?

With all that's going on here at AZB and in the world, I think it's very sad that you have to dig up 2 year old threads in order to get a rise out of people and stir a pot where the subject has spoiled over time.

I am in the process of doing exactly that!!!!! :( ! the cuemaker is Ted Harris Cues!

I have heard some stories about T.H., although I do not know him personally. He used to help Steve Lomax some (Lomax is a great cue maker and one of the most honest people you will meet). They parted ways for reasons I am not 100% sure on. Hope it works out for you.

First of all your beef should have been with the dealer..the guy that sold it to you may have done who knows what to the cue..I suppose you feel that if you sell it and the next guy sells it, Tim should be responsible forever.

Tim has a reputation as being one of the most honorable guys around, as well as being an incredible cuemaker. I have personally bought 8 cues from Tim, and have never recieved anything less than top notch professionalism. Your vulgar statement is totaly uncalled for and jsut plain STUPID.

I completely agree with this. My father has many Scruggs. and a model 9 which i play with and i absolutely love this cue and will never pick another cue up as long as i live. And Mr. Scruggs is also one of the nicest people in the pool world you will ever meet. tk

My point precisely!!!!!! ;)
Mr. Lucky,

One of my buddies from Richmond got shafted by Ted Harris, too.

He took the money and promised a date for the completion of the cue and it never happened. Up to now my friend has not heard anything from that cue maker, though my friend emailed and called him multiple times.

He is one shady, dishonest cue maker!!!

Ted Harris is no thief. He has had a series of ridiculously bad rolls that everyone here badmouthing him would have a hard time fading. Like his wife has been really ill. Like the building he works in had a methane gas leak and it made him and his wife even more ill for six months or so. Like he moved down to Florida and was promptly walloped by a string of hurricanes that left him damaged in so many ways besides just his building. this is just part of what is really going on...

I bring this up only because I know Ted will never come to the board and explain why he has had issues. There are two sides to this story and people coming to this board trying to burn down his business are just kicking someone who is down and trying to get back up.

Holy Moley! A cuemaker didn't deliver a cue on time? That's an incredible story....

Look, here's the problem. Saying something on this forum is not like saying it to a friend in a private conversation with a few people around. It's more like renting a billboard or a megaphone.

I'm not saying whether your friend was or wasn't treated reasonably. But it's waaay too easy for someone to shout out one side of these stories about a friend and inpossible/counterproductive for the cuemaker to come on here and go on defense.

I'm not accusing you of this, but such public complaints can easily emerge from longstanding private fueds or business competition or a host of other sources. I just think we should be a little circumspect here.

****

You old rsbers will remember the time somebody complained about Thomas Wayne having his cue for repair for too long. Thomas threatened to cut the guys cue into many many little pieces and send it back in the maiil. It was hilarious. Bu then TW always did have an unusual but keen sense of humor.

David Jacoby, Tom Coker, Alex Brick ... All Great Guys !!!!

You will not find a nicer, more honest Cuemaker on the Planet than David Jacoby ... I have know him several years and bought many high-end cues from him ... Another super guy to deal with is Alex Brick ... His work is impeccable and he delivers on time ... Tom Coker must also be included on this list, as he has built dozens of Customs for me over the past several years and his Customer Service is the best ...

As for Dale Perry ....... well, don't get me started on that P.O.S. !!!!!

You don't know the half of it. Or any of it for that matter. Thanks for butting in...

Just out of curiosity, and out of courtesy too, who is the "You" in your comment above Bob. I'm just wondering who you thought was "butting in" to this 2 year old thread.

Dave, thinks forums were designed to support "butting in", as he so often proves :p

Dale Perrys hit very good and they are very nice looking cues, but the customer service sucks, plain and simple. If you bought one you would be satisfied, just so long as you don't go thru any of the bullshit I went thru.

I've never had any problems with Dale Perry cues and I have owned and sold quite a few....the only problem I have found quality wise was my fav cue, the finish on one silver ring in the handle wore down and i can feel the ring(needs to be refinished...no problem now that i have a custom cue maker in house)....and the only other thing was a cue i bought that when i got it, one of the ebony points had a tiny tiny chip near the end of the point....i called him, shipped him back and he had another stick in my hands by that next monday.........but these were cues i bought from him and not off ebay...maybe the customer service through ebay sucks...but his attention to cues that you purchase personally from him or have him design is outstanding.

All that said, he is still a .....

Low-life, inbred, retarded P.O.S. ..... Oh, and did I mention he was a P.O.S. ??????

Ok so you think you got ripped off for $270. In the end it will all work itself out. Ted is probably behind like he always is. I do not think he would risk his reputation for an old McD probably not even worth the amount you put into it to get it repaired. I seriously doubt you will have marshalls with you at a cue show that would arrest him on site, the reason being is the cops DO NOT generally care about a cue unless its alot of cues or the cue is worth an ungodly amount of money! What probably happened is he finished your cue and then misplaced it and is trying to find it! If you want to actually arrest him you could call the cops in his jurisdication and make a complaint then there is a number of other things you could do. But then he would probably just be let go because your state would not try to extridite him, since the "crime" is so little to begin with! But since you mailed it to him you could probably get him on federal charges for mail fraud. But again nothing would probably happen he would just pay a fine and go and you still wouldnt have your cue.
Maybe he could also fall out of a tree. :-)

For the sake of accuracy you should quote who you're talking about....;)
