Souquet for the win, and depending on the draw I think John Morra will have a good showing.

Tough

to choose:
1) Orcullo
2) SVB
3) Souquet

in no particular order. Didn't Hohmann win this last year?

SVB top 3
Stevie Moore is my dark horse
and I pick Jasmin to cause some upsets.....

So many good players to choose from, my pick would have to be Feijen given his recent form but there are a couple dozen others that could easily find their way into the winners circle.

Obv I will pull for the following:

Liz Ford
Chris Lynch
Jonathan Smith
Michael Yednak
and Bernard Isaacowitz

I hope the rest makes a wrong turn at Albuquerque!

Wow, I didn't mean to forget Tony! I deliberately pulled names that weren't highlighted. All but Tony and those I previously mention I hope make a wrong turn at Albuquerque!

Though world-class champions have made it to the winner's circle at Turning Stone, i.e., Bustie, Thorsten, and Johnny Archer, I have also seen some other, sometimes relatively unknown, local players climb their way to the top and capture the almighty win at the Joss Tour events.

With the alternate break format and Zuglan no-nonsense rules, there will be no favoritism, and thankfully, a level playing field which will provide a player an equitable opportunity to shine.

Having said that, the field then, IMHO, is WIDE OPEN!

May the best player win! :)

Does that McCready feller play pool anymore??

McCready will be making a cameo appearance at an undisclosed location this month. He's been practicing, so that he can give his best performance when he gets there. There ain't nothing BETTER than The Keith McCready Show! :p

I will miss not being able to go to the Turning Stone this week. It is a very fun event! :)

What kind of no-nonsense rules are you talking about? Anything particularly special?

Well, you know, like all players being required to attend the players meeting. Sometimes I have witnessed some tournaments allowing certain name-brand unnamed players to arrive whenever it is convenient for them to arrive, often not having to attend the mandatory players meeting that everyone else has to attend. Sometimes these name-brand unnamed players are rewarded with "byes" for their late departures.

If you commit a foul, according to the Joss Tour rules, then it will be a foul. No second chances given to name-brand unnamed players. If you are boistrous and rowdy and disrupt the tournament, you may be disqualified.

All players must show up for their matches on time. Though there is a small grace period, if you don't show up right at the designated time, you will be forfeited when the grace period expires, and this rule applies to ALL players, to include the name-brand unnamed players.

Mike Zuglan does not show any favoritism. It don't matter whether you're Efren Reyes or JAM. You must follow the Joss Tour rules at all times while the tournament is in process. Otherwise, you're outta there!

I love a level playing field. Oh, one more thing which is kind of nice for the pool players, Joss Tour payout structure is GREAT. Second place monies is a nice sum, unlike other tournaments which use a different percentage payout for second place on down. AND best of all, the payouts are CASH greenbacks! No checks in the mail or hoping the check clears the next week when you get back home. :D

This is a very strong and deep field, but unfortunately only a handful of players have a realistic chance to win. Only ten or eleven players can win this event.

And here they are in no particular order:

Ronnie Alcano
Johnny Archer
Shane Van Boening
Lee Vann Corteza
Mike Davis
Niels Feijen
Dennis Hatch
Thorsten Hohmann
Mika Immonen
Dennis Orcullo
Ralf Souquet

Let's see, eleven players. You let me have these eleven players and I'll give you the other 117 and lay 2-1 on the money. Anyone want a piece?
