Who wants a 1 in 15 chance of winning a Rick Howard cue?

who is doing the drawing?
Please refer to the suggestion from catscradle. We will be using the megaball number from the next available mega-millions drawing once all funds are collected. We will then use the formula that was suggested to determine the winner based on the ticket number assigned to each participant at the time they pay.

Yea, I forget which numbers they used, but the numbers rackets used the pari-mutual results posted in the paper. Funny thing is I think the numbers rackets still survive despite the government competition because there are no taxes.

They use the last 3 numbers in the total handle so if the handle was $2,123,456 then the days winning number is 456.
The "handle" is the total that was wagered on all the races on the card that day at the "active" racetrack.
Using a lottery megaball is a better and bulletproof way to pick a number.

Well...This is the best way for a AZ member to sell a cue...i hope more people do this in the future...Great idea...Goodluck to all participants :)

Can't use the MEGAMILLIONS

The last number is drawn from balls numbered 1-46. Whoever gets number 1 would have an extra chance at winning.

I believe catscradle's original suggestion was to use a given state's pick 3 type number which would give everyone an equal shot.

Actually, now that I think about it that wouldn't work either-numbers 11-15 would still have one less chance of winning. The number 15 gives you these problems. Maybe exclude the numbers 91-100. If they come up you would use the next days numbers.

evening bump, I need five more participants.

Here's a bump for ya.. I saw this and attempted to do the same thing with a brand new Predator 5k8 today but I only had one person willing..

I was gonna do 8 $100 tickets and let the purchasers decide on how they wanted it done so they knew everything was on the square.

Cue sells for $1244 and cheapest online price is $995 plus tax and shipping. So someone would of got a hell of a deal for $100 on winning it.

Anyway, Good luck on getting the rest of the tickets sold.. You shouldn't have a problem with it..

I haven't seen this post repsponded to yet, so I'm reiterating what was said--this requires a response.

If the #s go from 00 up to 99, for example, then the people holding the numbers 1, 2, ... , 9, 15 have 7/100 chances, while the guys holding 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 all have 6 chances in 100. That is clearly unfair (although if the numbers are assigned at random it doesn't really effect anyone's overall chances. however, finding out that I have a slightly lower probability to win would definitely irk me some).

Assuming 00 is an option, the numbers need to range up to (15n - 1) for some n, that is, a multiple of 15 minus 1, so 14, 29, 44, 59, etc.

Will there be a way of dealing with this?

And is this cue really a $1500-ish cue?

I'm very interested in this sort of raffle, but I'd need these questions addressed before I throw my hat in the ring.

OK here is the fairest thing I can think of. We will use the Megaball number as I suggested earlier. That drawing is a number betwen 1 and 46. There is only one number that would cause an extra advantage (46). Therefore, as a contest rule, 46 is not a valid number for this contest. If 46 is the megaball number then a re-draw will be required from the next Megamillions drawing 3 or 4 days later. This will give everyone a dead even chance and the likelihood of a re-draw is very minimal. Does that sound good to everyone?
