Chris, I don't believe its a fear issue at all for Keith. It's practical. Apparently, he has stopped playing pool completely. It's hard to believe it, but it sounds like it is true. No pool at all. Only he can say whether or not he'll pick up a cue again anytime soon. I hope he does. If Keith begins to play again I'd think he'd need at least a few months of playing regularly to be competitive. I watched you play Tony C at Derby a few years back in a 9-ball ahead session and you played dead perfect for the 45 or so minutes that I watched. I respect that you create and seek action.

Well, think about it Corvette. What was your REAL purpose for posting this thread??? We all know you are a big fan of Bartrum. He's the latest 'big gambler', and is trying hard to make a name for himself. And, some, such as yourself, try and make his name bigger than it should be, all just because he gambles for big $$$. What better way to do that, than to compare him to one of the greatest EVER??

That is nothing but a diss to the great player. Whether you think it is or not. Bartrum ONLY comparison to Keith is his willingness to gamble. His game doesn't come close yet, and probably never will. So, how do you get that part to equal out? Have them play each other, of course. Even if it's only in peoples minds.

Of course people will say Bartrum would win if they played today! DUH!!! Keith game was going down a number of years ago, and he hasn't even played in two years! If Chris can't beat him now, he might as well sell his cues and get a job. So, just what would it prove if Chris did win??? Absolutely nothing in anybody's mind that can think a little. Might as well have him play George Rood to, while you're at it!

Face it Corvette. Chris plays real good, I'm not taking anything away from him. But, he IS second tier at best. There are many players he can't beat even, yet. So, it this wasn't your real intention, what was? Not to mention the fact that you and Jam don't get along at all, and you KNEW she would respond to this thread. Then she would get upset, that would bother Keith, and then he would get on here too. Go ahead and say that those that don't care for this type of thread have reading difficulties. We know better, and the fact is, I'm quite sure my reading abilities are FAR superior to yours. I've been tested on it MANY times while in the service, have you??

Keith, if you read this, I'll tell you the same thing I told Jam a couple of years ago. "Don't let this stuff get too far under your skin, there are those of us who like having you here." There are those of us, who remember how you played. I know you're trying to defend your reputation, but it won't help any to argue your point on the internet. You have made your mark in history. You will long be rmembered as one of the best pool players, and certainly one of the best barbox players to ever live.

In all fairness it would be mathmatically stupid for Keith to play, unless only for the fact of setteling this or for everyones enjoyment. Someone on here or maybe Keith himself said he is playing poker for $10k, $20k, or $30k a day? The most he is going to win playing is $80k at $20k a set like he said, plus he's taking agamble at that.

I, like most everyone else on here, would love to see Keith come back one more time. My guess is that if he did, Chris wouldn't have to like it. Of course, who knows if we will ever see The Ether do his thing again.

I did read this stupid thread. I think you should do another one when Keith is 80. Keith hasn't played in 2 years. Bartrum can beat alot of players in their fifties that haven't played in 2 years. Does this mean that Bartrum is a player? Please explain.

By the way I did vote for Bartrum and it was a tough decision!

Sorry you got your ego bruised for saying you are still 2nd tier. But, until you start playing everyone even, you are.

I remember last year or the year before at the DCC Shane was going to play Efren 10 ball and Efren refused. Dont hold me to this but I am almost certain of it. Efren would have played with a spot I bet so does that make him 2nd tier?

The original point was this- in his day, Keith was giving weight to anyone that asked. Bartrum thinks he is his equal when Keith was in his prime. Yet, Chris still wants weight from a number of people. When he starts spotting everyone else, THEN he might be Keiths equal, not before.
