Who would like to see Efren win the US Open?

A hill-hill Efren-Earl finals match might become the best-selling Accu-Stats match of all time.

I am pulling for Efryn to win it all
he is the best and certainly the most class
in my opinion

Wow just saw Efren beat the 2 time defending champ hill hill.Good to see Efren doing well in the US open, being a huge Efren fan,who would like to see the legend take this down?
I WOULD He still amazes me.

I think that most would like to see this legend take another US OPEN WIN home. Efren still plays great for as old as he is and is still very capable of doing so. I havent been keeping up with the matches at all does anyone know how Kiamco is doing, I would like to see him snap this one off.

There will be pool players in the future that are envious of us that got to watch the Magician play live. We really don't know how good we have it.

If the Hall of Fame were started today, Efren would be a first year inductee along with Strickland, Mosconi, etc.

He has proven himself on the table and off the table as a master pool player and a class human being. Always courteous, always smiling.

So yeah... I root for the Magician.

You've got that right! It has been a privilege to see the Magician in person.

I missed Luther Lassiter and Willie Mosconi. I guess I was too busy tossing back beers with the rest of the bangers to notice them passing. :embarrassed2:

Another old war horse who is still on the winner's side that deserves mentioning is Jose Parica.

I would! What a capper to a wonderfully long illustrious career! And -- someone fact-check me on this -- I think Efren would tie his friend Mike Lebron's record as being the oldest to ever win the U.S. Open?

Or would he take that record down?

-Sean

From what I could find, Lebron was 54 when he won it in 1988 and Efren is now 58. But we may be jinxing Efren by talking about this possibility so early!

jimmy-leggs...I would LOVE to see Efren take it down. He definitely has the skills (except he's so OLD that he's over the hill! ROTFLMAO).

Scott Lee ~ also over the hill, in that Bata and I are the same age.

Never have I wanted one specific player to win a specific event as much as Efren in this year's Open. I'm not sure how many other chances he will have and man is he playing good.

Go Effy!

Personally I"d like to see Efren in the Final with Earl.

If that happens I'm rooting for Earl.

I watched the ppv of his first round match where he won 11-1 and I became a believer that he could take it all.

Earl & Efren in the finals...hill/hill...Earl plays a safety on the 7 ball but hooks himself inadvertently when the 7 kisses of the 8 and is pocketed.

Earl (fuming!) then proceeds to Z KICK the 8 ball in with perfect shape on the 9  ...Efren then smashes his cue in half saying "He got lucky!"

That's when Earl says "It's like a nightmare isn't it?" ...then hands over something peculiar to Efren and Efren's all like "what's this?"

Earl: "That's your Liver that I just shot out."

the end.

You have that dream, too???:eek: :grin-square:

I am rooting for Efren Earl and Johnny.

Hope all these 4 make it to the final 4

I've got a couple of sweat bets on Archer and Van Boening against Orcullo. We'll see how that works out. At the moment I haven't checked the brackets and don't know how those two worked out this evening...

That sounds IMPOSSIBLE!!

Efren

I just love to see him play and the way his acting. Scratching his head, smiling and when he won against Darren he really showed everyone how happy and grateful he was. I havn´t met him but he seems to be a great man and a player and I do think he can win.

It wasn´t that long since he won the all around in Derby city classic, was it?

He´s starting to smell the feel now and that´s what an "old timer" needs I guess, the will and enjoy and be grateful of the game he loves can get him miiiiiiles:).

Btw it was a great game by the both of them and I really like watching Darren play to.

And to see Efren and Earl in a final would surely top it off, they both have such a great respect for each other so I would think that Earl would act his best.

I honestly believe Efren will win another US Open title. But I would also be happy to see a dark horse come through and win it.

Efren really is as nice and humble in person as he appears to be on TV. If I had half of his humility and 10% of his skill I could have been a contender! It's always a pleasure to watch him and the funny part is that he always says he gets lucky to win and sometimes it's true, but always deserved because he must have an incredibly large positive karma account.

I agree, John. Efren has socked-away *so* much positive karma, as a human being as well as into the game, that one can't help but get behind him. He's got it coming back to him, for sure.

Why else do we have these expressions?

- "The more he plays, the luckier he gets."
- "What would Efren do?" <-- This one's available on a T-shirt
- "Ghosts in the spirit world play 'The Efren'."

-Sean <-- wants to get that last one on a T-shirt
