Hi, i know this has kind of already been a thread but it just ends up with everyone saying szam.

I have a special design that i am looking for and i dont want to give it away but who would you have build a cue. the cuemaker of course has to be alive and taking orders. also open to creating a custom cue and willing to make something non-traditional. Richard Black said he would make it for me and i am 99% that route. i just wanted to make sure that i thought of everyone that i should have thought of first.

if you have contact info for people that you reccommend please provide it with your response.

all i can tell you is that i want a 1/2" ivory joint and 1/2" ivory butt cap. cant specify the idea because i dont want someone to make it first. sorry guys.

if mike cochran would conent to build it,i would try him, especially if i ever expected to play with it
mike cochran and tim scruggs,phone 410 247 1231

Me personally...I would have Eric Crisp (Sugartree Cues) make it....the wood he uses for his cues is out of this world.....

Have to mention the three guys from Florida;

Dennis Searing...if your young and patient because could be awhile

Bob Manzino...he is awesome and all his cues hit like dynamite

John Showman...probably your best bet of the three and makes incredible cues.

Voodoo~~~just my 2 pennies

Save ya a little time:
Showman: showmancues@hotmail.com Plan to wait about 5 years. Last I checked anyways. Might be down a little now.

Searing: http://www.searingcues.com/ Plan to wait until Florida has no more Gators.

If I went the Scruggs/Cochran route, I personally would want Tim Scruggs to build my cue. But that is just me ;)

But seriously, at least check out Klein. Top notch and can make about anything. And most important, they are MONSTER playing cues.

I hope my wait times don't start to suck because of this lol....:p :D

yeah i sent showman and email and didnt get and answer from searing. but ill leave searing a message once i hear back from showman. and manzino makes a very sw style cue and im not sure if he would be willing so i will keep him in mind. who knows if i can get one of these florida guys to make i maybe ill be able to stop in and check it out since im in orlando.

thanks guys

haha i tried schick and he said no thanks. i also emailed tony at b.boar but i havent heard anything back yet and im sure he will not waste his time on it. he makes cues for 4k-20k now and what im looking for isnt that expensive.

One thing I love about this site is getting to discover all the cue makers sites. Sorry to get off topic, but just had to say it.

Omen is also in your region, and makes one hell of a cue for the money. Turn around time might be pretty good as well.

Its my understanding that Tim is not doing the building anymore.
Can anybody confirm or deny??

Cuemaker

I am going to recommend someone that gets overlooked a lot, but makes
real nice cues, Skip Weston.

I'm not nuts about any of the choices so far, especially if you wanted it before you die. But that's all personal preference. I don't know what you are thinking about, but if it were me, I'd be on the phone with Mike Webb. I bought a cue from him recently and listened to all of the yadeda about the cue. Well, after playing with the cue for a while, all of the yadeda's were true to a fault. I'm dying with this freakin cue. He's not yet mentioned in the same breathe as Searing yet, but I'll tell you what. Someday he will be, especially as far is playability is concerned. He makes on hell of a cue. Ask him about his new shafts. They play as well if not better than the China pie shafts. Just another cuemaker to consider.

Who Would You Have Build It?

Judd Fuller of Judd Cues. I have a fancy one and just love it (see cue gallery section). Best playing cue I have ever owned in 35 years of playing.

Well, I'm the first to admit that I am extremely biased when it comes to Billy's cues, but if he won't make it, then maybe it isn't worth makin'. :poke:

Just bustin' your stones, chaz! Honestly, the only two guy's I'm familiar enough with to ever feel comfortable recommending them, is Billy Schick and Barry Szamboti. Sorry. Good luck in your search. I'm confident someone on this site will steer you in the right direction.
