Pipe dream? Not at all. As long as I'm still breathing I remain positive and hopeful that this team can get together and our dreams can be realized.
I'm in...
Looks like a good group to start-off with.
As you all may be aware of already, the BMPAP was recently created as a government recognized Professional Pool Organization here in the Philippines. And since its recognition last Feb 2008, we have already held 5 minor ranking tournaments and 1 major tournament. Upcoming is our Gemini Extravaganza for the month of May (details later), the bi-monthly Top Gun Shootout, the PPBL, the countrywide fiesta tour (where the townsfolk get to play with our Filipino Champions), etc(will announce when 100% positive). All the events mentioned already have sponsors and venues with some just getting the exact dates fine-tuned.
Perry and I initially started the BMPAP as a managers group but since the initial meeting with the other managers and the players it immediately evolved into what it is. Soon too Jo Sy and Putch Puyat threw in their unconditional support and its "all for 1 and one for all" faithfully adhered to. Lots of brainstorming, hard work and selfless devotion to the sport with the talk part taking a backseat to the actual work part. And yes, Putch, Perry and Jo (all 3 who has in their disposal an army of specialist in every concievable corporate chore) all did actual leg work and just plain old work! Putch was even orchestrating trouble-shooting work at the QC event venue! Jo Sy of Negros (Lee Van Corteza's Group) flies in at a moments notice for whatever we need him for (sign documents, personal attendance just to show unity in meetings with GAB and put in his .02, instruct his players on our discussed next move, etc). Perry and Verna? Always there over and above expectations.
A recent episode to share:
While in a meeting with a corporate sponsor, the head honcho of the Marketing Department directed a question to Perry and Putch, "Is the BMPAP a member of the sport's prestigious organizations such as the APBU and WPA? Amazed at how this question came about Perry answered "What if Putch and myself get APBU and WPA sanctioning for an event then be the participants in that televised match, do you think that that event can be considered prestigious, let alone worth watching? The corporate group's jaws dropped! LOL!!!
Just something to share with all of you!
