The Saw said:I'm friends with Jamie and I will be the first to tell anyone that Jamie has been out of line with a lot of things he has said here. He has always worn his heart on his sleeve but he got off to a rough start and no one wised him up from the get go, including me. Then once people really started flaming him, it was over.... And it was over long ago!
You can go ahead and say it Joey..... "K"irk. This Joey, he's got a mind like a steel trap..... You need any advice on some new playing shoes?I use "Saw" because most in pool circles know me by that.
Yes, it is perfectly fine IMO for people to give ACCURATE information here or anywhere on the net. Jamie just got his action flamed here earlier today. Saying that he plays even with McMinn and Banks Jr. That is literally the 6 ball off because Jamie hasn't played much in the past two years. When he was playing his best pool Shane could have given him the 7 and got away with it. How fair is it to Jamie that everyone that does a search for a line on Jamie is going to see that? Sure, Jamie got out of line posting here but he doesn't deserve to have his skill over rated like that no matter what the person that posted that thinks or hears. If Jamie beat someone that plays McMinn's speed, even, gambling and someone posted that here, then they have legitimate reason to say that Jamie plays McMinn's speed. But for the person to say "The person I got the info from is very reliable & very close to McNugget." That my friend is the perfect example of what we are talking about... I love to see people matched up close and see them grind it out. To me that is what makes a true player, those that have the heart to dig deep and grind. Bartram is one of my best friends and is my pool playing hero because he is the best grinder in the business. Who is the toughest action I ever played you may ask? Jamie McWhorter.... We both have so much grind in us that we would literally try to kill each other. Believe me, Jamie became the player he is because the kid has tons of heart! I would have clarified all that way earlier in this thread but I got perturbed and just walked away instead of going off.
Little windy there Joey but I had to preach to the choir......
KkkiiiiiiiiiSaw- Just can't bring myself to do it......
I B jellin' N my new basketball shoes. The combo works well.
I watched Chris Bartram/um play the guy from England at the DCC and I know a grinder when I see one and they are both grinders. I felt like a nub after just watching them for a few hours.
Everyone deserves to be rated fairly and what that is for Jamie McWhorter, I haven't a clue. It looks like Watchez has his rating and you have yours.
Sometimes, we need to clue our AZ come-lately friends about the nuances of this forum so we can shorten their learning curve and make their visits permanent and pleasant. Get to work KkkkkkiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiSAW.![]()

What A Joke!!!!!!!!! Aint Ur Dam Business Stay Out Of It...............
This Is Why Poolplayers Stay Broke..........detectives Who Cant Make A Ball And Never Bet A Quarter Ruin Their Action...good Players Wouldnt Have To Go On The Road To Make Money If There Were Decent Tourneys But There Isn't...........so Now You Try And Knock Their Action From Your Home Computer With Ur C#*$s In Your Hands.............
Just Shutup And Let People Gamble...........

Jay, do you care to give the details w/ "The Oil Can"? I loved Lisciotti. He was a "character" who, in my opinion, never got all the attention or credit that I felt was due him. I've even been mulling starting a thread on him to see if some frest stories would surface.
Thanks.
jay helfert said:I was in my early 20's and hanging around the Billiard Den in Hollywood. I was playing every day, my specialty giving weight to all the suckers from the entertainment industry who came in there. For example Jimmy Caan got the 7 and the break and we'd play a set for 50 or a 100. Good action back then.
I was the "player" in this room, and only the occasional visit by Pancho would make me take a back seat to anyone. So one day I'm robbing someone who I don't remember at One Pocket, giving them some outrageous spot. I would regularly give up 10-5 or 12-6 to these non players. It didn't make any difference. They only got a ball when I let them anyway.
A young guy is watching the game, not saying anything. When it's over he barks at me to play. He says he wants to play some for a lot of money because he can beat me. I was used to seeing Pool "imposters" come in here, posing as real players. It was "The Hustler" image they were trying to create. Sometimes they even carried fancy cues and cases and talked all the talk, but when they got on the table, they couldn't play.
Bruce Christopher was the most famous one, going as far as getting on TV with Fats and he couldn't play a lick. Well anyway, I tell this young guy to cmon and let's play some One Pocket for 20 a game. A good bet back then. He says no, he only wants to play if I put up 200. I'm a little wary but figure this guy is just blowing air, so I agree to post 200. We are playing a Race To Four, One Hole. Well in the first game, I see I've got a real player here, and he is laying it down on me. He trounces me something like 8-3.
I manage to win the second game on my break and then he beats me three in a row for the cash. I'm hot because I've been hustled by a very good player. I ask for all the Breaks and he gives it to me if I bet 50 a game. I blow 100 more and pull up. I've just been robbed for 300, a weeks work in my current "job". A while later, Popcorn comes in and I know he sic'ed this guy on me. Later on I find out it was Larry, the Connetticut (spell) State Champ.
I repay the favor to Popcorn a couple of years later, courtesy of Frank Tullos, but he didn't take it as well as me. Larry and I laughed about it later when we saw each other at the Stardust tourney. We became good friends.
