Who's coming to the Maryland Straight Pool in June?

Sounds like a possible road trip is in order for forumghost516 and I.

Hope to see ya there

A-man,
I will be there this year - hopefully to play if there are still spots open; but will watch if I'm not entered. My game has continued to improve; hopefully enough to give me some chance to make it to Sunday play.

I believe my professional friend will most likely not be able to accompany me this year:frown::frown:; too bad because watching her run over Mike Davis, Ryan McCreesh, and Brandon Shuff in sequence last year was the greatest day of straight pool I've witnessed.

Hope to see you again. Good luck.

If that cute puppy in your avatar is YOUR dog and you don't wanna leave it all alone at home, feel free to bring it along!! ill puppy-sit!! :)

Yep, she (Honey) is our little girl. :)

Hotels don't like us to bring her and so we have to find friends who will puppy sit her. She is adorable and will even watch pool on TV.

A,
I heard from Peter Burrows; I'm in. Can't wait for some crab at Cantler's; then some pool at Big Daddy's.

I think a lot of jaws dropped when she ran through that threesome.

I was especially impressed because on Saturday I really took her down to my mediocre level and almost won. Then she completely catches a gear and plays fantastic and only lost cause Dave Daya mounted a huge comeback iirc.

Anyone knows who's signed up so far to play? I really hope all the great players that tried for the straight pool challenge at SBE will show - i.e. Schmidt, Hohmann, Immonen, Lipsky, Daya, Chamberlain, Marop etc. and Heather of course

I'm sorry but I haven't seen a player's list yet. In the past, Hohmann, Immonen, Lipsky, Daya and Chamberlain have all played in this tournament, in addition to Jeanette Lee, Bobby Hunter, Danny Barouty, Shaun Wilkie, Mike Davis, Danny Harriman, Grady Matthews and many more top straight pool players. Who knows who will show up this year. This tournament has developed into a first class event.

Lol awe thanks! I'll be there but not playing in tourney. Only enough funds for 1 and honestly I'd have no shot lol. I'll just hve some leasurly play while the touney is going on if I can other than that I'll just be hanging out and watching hubby play :)

I'll be playing/donating. It's always tough when all of your opponents are 100 ball runners. I hope to do better this year (only won one game last year).

I have heard that Ryan McCreesh will not be playing (making the tournament more attractive to some of the better-behaved old schoolers).

This is the first I have heard about Ryan M. not playing, but I have to agree with the tournament being more attractive in his absence.

The tourney is shaping up to be quite an event! I heard through the grapevine that the following players will be there:

Danny Harriman - last year's winner
Dave Daya - last year's runner up
Bob Maidhoff - won 2 years ago
Mike Sigel - hall of famer, etc, etc
Charlie Williams - didn't he win both Valley Forge and Derby City??!!
Bobby Chamberlain - been trading the top spot on the AZ 14.1 challenge thread
Thorsten Hohmann - has run over 400?
Mike Davis - has made it to Sunday afternoon of this event every time
Ed Deska - the best straight pool player in Maryland?
Shaun Wilkie - takes offense at Deska's description!
Gerda Hofstatter - strong European 14.1 player
Steve Lipsky - New York City's finest!
Danny Barouty - Lipsky's mentor
Dan Heidrich
Mike Dechaine

So much for getting an easy round robin group!
