Who's ever Beaten Shane VB?

Who has this kid lost to?
Only one I heard of is Corey gave him the 8-Ball and thrashed him a year ago.

Now they are playing even. I think VB has improved and will have more behind him in his homecourt.
I still like Corey tho to win.

Anyone else know who has taken down Shane?
 
Corey did give him the 8 in Atlanta about a year ago on a triple shimmed Diamond and it took Corey about 12 hours to finally beat him. Other than that, I havent heard of Shane booking a loser either.

2 years ago at the dcc, shane gave keith bennet(fayetteville nc) the 8, 10 ahead and got beat. everyone there wanted shane and even offered up to 2/1 on the money. keith started breaking good after about 2 hours and it was over about an hour after that.
 
Cliff beat him at the Derby this year playing 8 Ball. Shane was giving Cliff 4 games on the wire to 22 (pretty sure it was 22). Cliff played great and Shane just couldn't out run the nuts.

That was the only loser he booked for the entire event.

Who he has beaten this past year that I know of (some of these games involved spots):

Ronnie Wiseman (One Pocket)
Tony Chohan (One Pocket with a big spot)
Darren Appleton (8 Ball)
Dennis Orcollo (8 Ball)
Hennesse (10 Ball)
Cliff Joyner ( 8 Ball )
Troy Frank (9 or 10 ball not sure)

These are just a few I can think of. There are many more. In my opinion Shane is the best cash player in the country right now. We will see if he can hold on to that against another cash game king, when Corey rolls into town on September 14.

If he gave Shane that game in Sioux Falls today and won he could probably retire. Or get busted.

I don't think Efren could win with that game. Matter of fact I would bet on it. As much as I could.

The scary thing about Shane is that he KEEPS getting better. I have seen it over the course of this year. The kid is a monster.

Story from this years Derby: Shane and I are eating breakfast in the restaurant, Dennis Orcollo rolls in by himself and sits near us. He says to Shane " You ready to play" Shane says "You're too good". Dennis replies "Give you the 9" and Shane fires back "8 and 9". Dennis shakes his head and says "Too much".

Shane looks at Dennis and holds up 2 fingers. He says " 2 years. In 2 years I'll play you even."

Dennis just smiled.

That was a pretty cool moment.

I don't think it's going to take that long.

When Shane beat Dennis two sets of Eight Ball on a Diamond Bar Box, I knew he had arrived. Dennis "owns" these tables.

This match with Corey is another big test. He is finally playing one of the "big three" Americans even. Only Rodney and Johnny would be left for him to overcome in this country.

That is such an awesome story! I can't wait till the open this year. Hopefully I can meet a pro player and pick their brain a little.

If you were talking at the viking event I didn't see them play, not ta say they didn't but I watched shane destory tony waston ,{run the backers away,liljon was murdered shane and cliff played one pocket and we left after three games[200 game].I would like to say I would have scene the game cause we we in on his action with him.

To be perfectly honest, as much as I like Shane, I'm not that thrilled with this game. I've already made my sweat bets, and I may stop right there. One thing for sure, I'm not going to unload on this one.

I've been sweating Corey's action for a long time. He is one tough customer. I wouldn't want to try to make a living off him. Shane definitely has his hands full. If he is going to become the most feared money player in the USA, he will have to beat Corey, Johnny and Rodney eventually.

Then he can move on to the rest of the world. :)

Johnny's best days may be behind him as far as gambling is concerned. He is more of a businessman now. Same could be said for Rodney. Corey hasn't gone that route yet. It's hard to regain that form when you get away for a few years. C.J. Wiley case in point.

I've gotta agree with Jay here...I still think Shane needs to beat Archer, even though Archer is now more a family man, and doesn't play as much as he used to or at least as seriously (it's hard be hungry when you've won everything on the planet and are a shoe in for the hall of fame if you never hit another ball in life! ;-)

Even with all that being said, he is still the premier American player and even if he isn't playing quite like he used to, with that d*mn break of his, when he gets it going he's playing 7 and 6 ball when playing 10-ball...the rest of the world is happy to be playing 9-ball after their break! That makes for a tough guy to beat, even if he's just playing ok!

There is a reason none of the philipino's or anyone else ever offer Johnny weight!

Shane's improvement over the past two years is incredible. He may have picked up three balls. I don't think Keith would want the same action today.

Nope. I believe him.

Something I don't think most people know is that this guy does one thing. Pool. He doesn't drink, smoke, fool with drugs or anything that has tripped up young lions in the past.

He works out and runs regularly in order to be in the best shape possible mentally and physically. He is much like the European champions in that way, he makes an effort to give himself every advantage. There are lots of stories of him missing a shot in match and going back and practicing it for hours upon hours until he has it down.

He has what I think is the most important trait in a gambler and in a Champion. Desire. He wants to be the best in the world. I don't mean like the way most players say they want to be #1. He WANTS it and he is willing to work for it. He has the fire.

The last time I saw that in America was a few years ago when Corey won everything in sight.

Only thing that could get in Shane's way is, honestly in my opinion, a woman. Hasn't happened yet but it would not be first time a guy went off the path.
