We also had extremely great play from our 3's and 4's.
We compete in city for spots to Vegas.
We only had to play a 7 once in our 5 matches to win the trip.
My 4 won the trip for us and when I told how much the last 8 ball he sunk was worth the look on his face was as they say PRICELESS!!!!!!!
D_Lewis said:It seems that the starting match numbers are now up.
Straight Shooters from Narvon PA we play first in 8 ball
Pool Ball Riders from Louisville KY we play first in 9 ball
Good luck to all teams!
stevea said:I see that the match numbers are up but how do you know when you play? You said you play first.
My match number is 393.
If i do a search for another 393 and there isn't one there does that mean we have a bye the first round?
D_Lewis said:It could mean that you are just waiting on your opponent to win their first match.
That means they can win their first and lose their second but still be in the tournament based on the modified single elimination structure.
Oh, the higher the number, the later "rounds wise" you will be starting. I am expecting to start Tuesday afternoon for 8 ball with our starting number.
stevea said:Well if we have to wait for a winner of a different match that would mean that we don't play the first round which would be cool. I think they put the board up on the internet a few days early so I will be able to see when we are playing.
D_Lewis said:Thats what I was assuming for singles in May but they never posted a board.
With your high start match number, you should start Tuesday sometime.
stikapos said:Its nice that they put up the schedule, but it does cause a bit of confusion. Looks like there are somewhere around 250 teams in all. We go off at 8am bright and early on Tuesday. One can only hope that the team we play are a bunch of power drinkers! Of course, so are the rest of the guys on our team! Sounds like its 11pm until all of the first matches go off, so 8 am and either 6pm or 11pm, depending on whether we win the first match or not. If not, its a quick exit to the wilds of the Hard Rock, where lots of skimpy clothed gals try to catch beefcake, beefcake! Of course, I'm just interested in the booze and gambling......too old to worry about young chickieseetas.

Do any pro players play by these rules? would you play money matches with these rules?

I didn't count them all....bless you for your patience! The highest match number I saw was 510, figuring that the number of teams was half of that or so.stevea said:I think for 8 ball, i counted almost 700 teams or a little more. Where did you get the 250 from?

stevea said:well I only counted 2 pages to make sure they are the same and they are so it's 49 teams on a page and there are 15 pages (but the 15th page isn't full), so it's 49x14+the rest on page 15 and i think it equals 707 or something like that, i forget.
