Swanee and phenolic tips

Swanee does not allow jump cues - Break cues can use Phenolic tips.
(Because it is not an official CSI event-it really is an overgrown local event!)

USBTC (US Bar Table) in Reno Feb 21-27.
Jump cues are allowed and can use Phenolic tips
Break Cues can not use Phenolic tips. (We do not police this-but if a complaint is lodged, the player will not be allowed to use it).

Thanks for the info about break cues, I know jump cues are not allowed though jump shots are as long as they are performed with the playing cue.

Are there going to be any special break requirements, like balls past the head string/side pockets, break box etc.? In other words are medium or soft breaks OK?

Doors open at 9 AM.

We will have matches started by 9:15. Last year we had all tables in play by 9:30.

It is nice to let me know you are in the building because if I see your opponent, I can start that match right away. The first couple of rounds, it is all about keeping the tables in constant play.

There is no check in. The flow charts will be up and so will lists by alphabet and by position.

We do not schedule actual matches - but try to schedule the rounds.

We will do the best to make this a smooth event - BUT BEWARE - this becomes a real grind. so pace yourself.

Yeah, it's against the rules. Mark would only need to add a rule if he was going to allow it. It's practically an unprovable rule, but a rule nonetheless, and you know it when you see it. If someone pattern racks against me I'll hit 'em right back with my own favorite pattern - the 9 ball on the wing. :grin-square:
