MY BAD- Buddy Hall

ironman said:
For me, when at his best, Buddy Hall. He just seemed to understand some things about the game that most didn't. His choice of patern play was at times confusing and could be a little complicated, but once you thought about it, it often made perfect sense and would change the way a lot of people played the game. For me, he was just fun to watch.

He is also an incredible character and can be very funny to be around.

How could I not have Buddy at the top of my list. His insight into the game and what other players are thinking and what they will do is second to none.

Thanks for reminding me. I like to hear him commentate better than anyone else.

My all time favorite is Irving Crane.

Of today's players, Reyes for his creativity and innovation, Souquet for his irreproachable technical excellence, Hohmann for his combination of power and finesse.

It's easy to pick

Thorsten is a class act

Jamie Baraks is an intense player, Best is yet to come

Karen Corr is a machine and a polite pro (met her at Peoria)

Jessie Bowman is the funnest to watch bar none

Buddy Hall is my all-time favourite 9-ball player. Shannon Daulton ranks high on my list for his all-around game, and Bobby Pickle is up there just for being so fun to watch.

Stevie Moore.
Cliff Joyner.
Earl Strickland.
Johnny Archer.
Scotty Frost.
Tony Robles.

All for different reasons, but I couldn't omit any. :D

Jimmy Mataya

Jimmy Mataya - I only met him once. I'm glad someone had
the spine to condone and teach about pool hustling.

Ga Young speaks several languages - English - Korean - and Mandarin - perhaps more than that. She used to have a boyfriend, but like most pool players travel gets in the way of relationships.
Happen to know where Ga Young plays out of?

Efren for one pocket...He is giving lessons every time he plays.
Alex "the lion" for his entertainment and his little bets while he is "drunk".
Nick Varner and Jeanette Lee for what they have brought to the sport over the years.
Souquet for his professionalism.
Landon Shuffet for showing many that a future in pool is bright.
Allison Fisher for raising the game to a higher level for women.
(Some say Jean Balukas did that first though)
Mark Wilson for his enthusiasm and personal devotion to making the sport better.
Vivian Villareal for her love of the game. Shes like a kid sometimes..lol.
John Schmidt for his eloquence, professional attitude, and respect for others.
Scott Frost for his heart and drive even when down.
Shannon Daulton for bringing out the best in other players. You cannot ever let down with him.

Just some thoughts that came to mind.

Actually my favorite players are the ones who practice on our tables and keep the place going. Thanks everyone:D

Women: Jasmin Ouschan, Line Kjorsvik and Mariette Schenk
Men: Alex Lely, Nick van den Berg and Thomas Engert

My favourites

Steve Knight and Lee Tucker- both hugely influential here in the UK and always great to watch.

Tom Storm and Tony Drago- both incredible natural talents. Tom's got a brilliant all-round game having run 269 in straight pool and having been European champion in all 3 of the disciplines whilst Tony is just unstoppable on his day.

Jim Rempe, Ralf Souquet, Francisco Bustamante, Efren Reyes and, sometimes, Earl Strickland all players I love to watch too.

Thanks,
Chris (Chrstc).

Gee, this question is a real toughie for me. Of course, my favorite player is Keith McCready. :p

Here are my close seconds:

How can you not like Alex Pagulayan?! The kid has personality plus, but when he's in combat, he is, like his name implies, a ferocious Lion!

Tony Robles is a gentleman player, always takes the time to speak to his fans, and he is such a gentle soul. Of course, the man can play, but his dedication to his family is what impresses me the most.

Buddy Hall is a road warrior, a world-class champion, a BCA Hall of Famer, and a man who has dedicated his entire life to the sport. At each event I have attended, when Buddy Hall was in the house, he spent a great deal of his time promoting pool. His knowledge of the game is beyond reproach, and he's an old-school player, my favorite!

Danny "Kid Delicious" Basavich was a young boy when he decided to embark on a pool career. Though he did the on-the-road thing, the times were a changing when it came to pool. He knew he had to make his mark by becoming a tournament soldier, and that he did, capturing a few titles along the way. Danny has been burned by the pool industry, and he has given it his all. He is probably the most misunderstood American player today, but to know Danny is to love him. Kid Delicious is the real deal!

There is no doubt that Francisco Bustamante is a world-class champion. What I like about him the most is his sense of humor. I like his demeanor on and off the table.

Everything is funny when you're winning big money, as they say, and it is always a pleasure running into Ronnie Wiseman on the tournament trail. When Ronnie shines the brightest, it is when he's in the pit playing games of stake. The man's got no fear and a whole lot of heart.

My favorite has always been Allison because she's so damn good and Gerda cause she's so damn hot!

My favorite player is Mike Fuller from Roxboro,N.C. The reason is his desire for the game and his great personality. Not to mention one of the top 5 in the state.
