We've gone from it can't work to it can't work as advertised. How it's advertised is as an objective aiming system with zero feel or subconscious involvement.

So the non-users consider that false advertisement, or a marketing ploy? But why do they care? Are they going after McDonald's when their Big Mac didn't turn them into an Olympic athlete?

So why do they care? It's not as if they are ever going to use the system.

And what if they're right? What if it's proven that CTE is not 100% objective and it does involve feel. Does Stan change how the system is advertised? Probably. Do the non-users start using CTE? Doubtful. Do the users stop using CTE? Nope.

I've been discussing pivot aiming with a couple of the guys in the aiming forum (non CTE people as of yet) and it is clear what they are doing, and it helps them: They find the contact point by lining up to the pocket, then define 3 and 9 o'clock edge positions from that vantage point. Keeping those points in mind, they set up behind the cue ball using the 3 or 9 position (no longer on an edge) as their starting reference point, and then go through a series of pivots/offsets to help them send the cue ball to the cp. That's the whole enchilada, and is probably not far off from what Stan does, but "totally objective" sells better, I suppose. Took all of one paragraph to explain, not 20 years and countless banishments from AZ.

English! must be proud of you. You both have about the same knowledge of CTE, which totalled equals a little less than 1 on a scale of 50, yet both of you claim to be the experts on it.

First of all, I don't doubt that Stan sells material to squeak out a profit. He's put a lot of time and effort in, and I see nothing wrong with trying to be compensated.

As far as snake oil goes, you may want to brush up on your definition...

Now I know that not everyone will have the same end result. Whether it's the system, or lack of practice and dedication is another story. But I think enough people do get the result they are after to make calling the system snake oil unfair and untrue.
