Why Does Everyone Hate Cuetec!

Try the higher priced Models before condemning

I too do not like the lower priced Cuetec with the Fiberglass shafts.

But, it is apparent from the remarks that those of you, that are condemning cuetec's, have not used the higher priced models with the Vortex or the low deflection R360 shafts.

Both of these shafts are maple with a Fiberglass core.

Please before knocking a product, test and make an informed decision. You still may not like the cue, but at least you gave it a fair test.

I play with the ES model Cuetec. The shaft is wood inside fiberglass. I realize this type of thing is very subjective, BUT, I have never, ever played with a smoother, more free-gliding shaft.

I just don't understand the multiple complaints that the shaft doesn't stroke freely through their bridge hand. With a graphite cue I'd more than understand. I own a Scruggs and a top of the line Huebler. I've played with each of those cues with their proprietary shafts and Predator shafts. No combination gives me as smooth a stroke as the Cuetec. Maybe the other fellows perspire more than me or have very hairy hands??? I just don't get it.

Either way, live and let live. What's good for me doesn't need to be good for you. I will say this, while I count my Huebler & my Scruggs among my most valued material possessions, if you could calculate cost over performance, IMHO, the Cuetec rules hands down. That being said, I'd run into a burning building for my Scruggs and/or my Huebler. Can't say that for the cuetec.

that's EXACTLY what she said!
.

I don't get cue snobbery. I can't fathom spending big money on a cue and I don't understand 'hating' one either. I don't see my cue as a high end performance device or a brand name or a way to show off my money or impress people with its looks. I mean, I can understand spending money for something that looks beautiful, the same way you spend serious coin on a painting, but otherwise it's just an instrument. I feel the same way about my cue as I do about my shoes. It just needs to work, not look bad, and never cause me to 'notice' it. If I'm noticing the cue for some reason, there's a problem.

With that in mind, the "hit" on a cuetec is fine, but I will often notice the shaft material or coated finish or whatever it is. It is definitely stickier than wood. But if they ever solve this problem I'd be happy to play with one.

game on...

So which posters in this thread do you feel fit into the categories of a, b, and/or c that you defined below? :poke:

I am curious which category you feel I fit into, or maybe I'm one of those rare people who simply owned a Cuetec and hated the way it played compared to other cues at or below its 100 dollar price point.

I'm gonna say "C" cuz you seem to want to keep this going.

OK, last post for me...for the Cuetec owners - you like 'em, I don't - who cares?! I do not HAVE to try every single thing Cuetec makes before I'm allowed to have a negative opinion about Cuetec. Why is everyone so touchy about others' feelings/opinions on products they happen to own and like? Do you pull over the guys on the road that have Calvin pi$$ing on your brand of car stackers to tell them they are wrong?

I also do not HAVE to try one with a glove....I never used a batting glove in baseball (not in little league, high school, college, etc.), no glove in golf for me, so, no glove in pool, and yes, I'm allowed to think they look funny too! :p

Like what you like, wear what you wear, and don't be so defensive about it. One day you'll realize that everyone doesn't have to agree with or even like you or what you do or like.....

rant done, now let's talk some pool - you play your stick, I'll play mine

Huh? I don't follow your logic there, Shortside.

To refresh, "C" was this:

"They aren't skilled enough to realize just how good the Cuetec cues play."

So tell me, how good of a player do you think I would have to be in order to realize how good the Cuetec I used to own played?

I am new here...Never tried a cuetec...I am willing to try one though. I have always shot with my Runde Shon

I have been watching this forum for about 1.5yrs and I think Travis Trotter is a huge Cuetec fan. I am not 100% sure though

"A" level or better

We don't need no stinkin' gloves, do we? :)

"A" level or better

How ironic. I wonder what percentage of Cuetec owners would fit into the "A" level or higher, compared to owners of various other production cues.

Anyway, if you think I'm "a world away" from an "A" player, you should give me major weight against the ghost if the chance ever comes up! I so clearly need it since I am unable to detect the phenomenal playability of the fiberglass-wrapped Cuetec cue. :D

Maybe if they lowered the price of Cuetecs a bit, it may be a little more bearable. I still can't see myself paying 300 for a cuetec when I can get a nice looking DP with real inlays for less.

Yeah, but the Cuetec is likely to hold it's value better.:rotflmao1::bash:

Hate issa strong word...I love my Cuetec, my Penn 4.0 hooked right up to it and I have caught so many fish with it <EYEROLL>
