Why is censorship so prevalent on AZ?!

Really? What gives here? I mean this is a free, public forum in which individuals are encouraged to share ideas and opinions with one another. In fact, its more than encouraged. Thats the point of forums like this!!! Now I know that there are individuals who may take this freedom to an extreme and as a result, there is a necessity for monitoring what is said on these threads. However, these moderators are becoming like dictators; carefully watching over every post and deleting those that they deem "inappropriate". That being said, I have to ask: Who the hell are these guys to deem what is appropriate or not?

Twice now I posed a question to another AZer this afternoon. The first time, I implied a profane word. That is to say, I used the first letter of the word and replaced the remaining three with asterisks. Instantly, the post was deleted. I reposted about a half hour later using kinder, gentler words and now, the whole thread has been deleted. All I was saying is why is an individual trying to sell a cell-phone in pool-related forum? Hock your crap elsewhere. This is a pool-related forum. There is even a non-pool related forum on this site. Go there if you must.

But my pmain point is, who the hell are these moderators to decide what is appropriate and what isn't for a public forum??? As if it wasn't bas enough that a slew of idiots run around on this site offering up their "expert" opinions when they know about as much as a retarded monkey, now more and more of them are becoming "moderators" and enforcing the non-existing laws and ethics of AZ Billiards. What the heck (clean enough for you guys) is that all about?!?!?

<sarcasm>Calling the Mods "retarded monkeys" is a good way to get your point across.</sarcasm>

Actually the 'retarded monkeys' wasn't directed at the moderators as much as it was the numerous individuals who offer up worthless, baseless, and inaccurate advice and opinions. But the general point is the same. Calling someone a retarded monkey certainly not the worst thing in the world. But I'm sure that someone is gonna read that and strike it from the record! Know what I'm saying?

Yours isn't the first thread to get deleted on this topic.
Also, be careful when you use a letter of the alphabet in your posts. I got warned for it and would hate to see it happen to you...

Understand where you're comming from...no doubt however, it would be ashamed to insult the little primates as they are pretty smart...even the "retarded' ones. Let's just call it as we see it...there are some stupid people out there with no common sense.

Actually, I'm kind of fond of subsituting the term "monkey" for an expletive.

JAM <--deja vu and can think of a lot worse! :p

I think you mean “mentally challenged primates”

I'd like to know why the heavy hand has come down in the past month. I think some of the posts being removed is just plain silly.
Please just post the names of the 12 trouble makers and I will be more than happy to introduce to them on line poker and they will leave you nice people alone.
BUT in the mean time, can we stop using the delete key to solve all your problems, cause it's not working and actually making things worse.
have a happy day

In regards to the origional post.
Free -yes...to you,but not to Mike Howerton who pays the bills.
Public-yes...Mike Howerton has generously allowed us to post on his forum
Mike Howerton calls the shots.
These are just MY retarded monkey expert observations.I certainly look forward to hearing more of your expert opinions and advice. I'm also sure Mike Howerton also looks forward to it.

Terry< doesn't believe in making a monkey out of a mole hill....or something like that.

I'm not sasying anything about Mike Howerton, I'm saying the heavy hand has happened in the past month, I have been a member here for a few years, and I have never seen the deletion of posts, and the crap over using a letter in the alphabet. I feel bad that Mr.Wilson has to read every post to make sure that we didn't leave one letter "inthese"
The guidelines have not changed or if they have, I would like to be told, but this stuff has just gotten silly and over the top for adults.

The bottom line is that we are all guests here. If you throw a Birthday party for your wife & some unsavory thugs come over & start spewing explatives..you would ask them to leave real quick would you not? The same here! Also there is always RSB where anything goes.

I'm sorry, I grew up in a pool room. Seeing a letter of the aphabet doesnt seem to be the same stretch as what you are saying, but anyway you have a nice day. I guess you missed the point but that's okay.

See, I don't view it as a heavy hand.

I actually have a hard time understanding why "adults"....a loose term at best, would feel they can act as bad as they want on this board ( private property ) and then **actually** be surprised in the smallest bit when the trash is taken out.

I'll remind everyone, the guy that warned someone for an "f" is no longer here. He's also the guy that banned a bunch of people because they annoyed him.

There are times that I can totally understand that sentiment.

Now, as noted, for people that don't like it here, NOBODY is going to make you read and post against your will.

We make some simple requests of posters. Nothing hard at all.

First and formost, keep ALL the discussion clean and civil.

We can work our way down from there, but 99% of the rules can be covered by just keeping it clean and civil.

I will be making the warnings well known.

3 strikes, you're out.

Pretty simple, right?

As if there was a reason that this has to be explained, the thread was moved so that it's contents could be discussed without more people adding fuel to the fire.

Then why did this happen?
