Why no Jean Balukas videos on Youtube etc...

Naw, not Vicki.

Okay. Here is my very last hint. If y'all don't get it now, you never will! :D

This lady pro began playing pool when she was 4 years old. The initial of her maiden name begins with "O."

Ogonowski?

Ogonowski?

Yep, you came in one post too late, but because you didn't realize that and were late on the mouse clicker, I hereby bequeath you with the AzBilliards' Blue Star. It stands for honest effort!

That's Vicki, not Loree Jon.

That's what I thought! I've watched Loree Jon play in tournaments in Binghamton, NY since she was 12, up to and after she married Sammy and it didn't look like her to me. Ya beat me to it, Jay!
Nice to see you posting, JAM! Say Hi to Keith for me.

That's Vicki, not Loree Jon.
Here's LoreeJon from a 1985 Billiards Digest bio:
CropperCapture[11].png
Loree Jon Ogonowski won the 1981 World Open 14.1 title and the 1984 Women's World 9-Ball Open.
She was the sport's youngest world champion, at 16.

LOREE JON OGONOWSKI
Age: 19
Birthplace: Elizabeth, New Jersey
Current Home: Garwood, New Jersey
Marital status: Single, but engaged to Sammy Jones.
Nicknames: Just "L.J."
First job: Working in the family pool hall.
Personal hero: The character "Rocky." The underdog fighting to come back.
My favorite movie: The Ten Commandments.
Musical preference: I love everything, except hard rock. I like classical.
Favorite performers: Barry Manilow, Elton John and Barbara Streisand.
The worst part about being a professional pool player is: There's nothing I don't like about it.
If I could change one thing about myself it would
be: I used to have a bad temper, but I've solved the problem. Other than that, just my hair. It's too straight.
My favorite hobbies are: Tennis, swimming, bicycle riding, water and snow skiing.
I'm a sucker for: Ice Cream.
If I've learned one thing in life it's: To always be honest. Lying always catches up with you.
My most irrational fear is: Every night, no matter where I am, I have to check under the bed, in the closet and in the bathroom before I feel secure enough to go to bed.
If I couldn't be a pool player: I'd like to sing.
My favorite actor is: Dustin Hoffman
One thing I can't stand is: Loud, obnoxious people.
The worst part of my life was: Scratching three straight times in the World Open.
The best part of my life was: Beating Jean Balukas in the finals of the Women's World 9-Ball Open.
My favorite food is: Crab Legs.
People who knew me in high school thought I was: Just me. I was just one of the girls.
My favorite city is: New York.

Wow! These are cool pictures and what a neat bio about LoreeJon.

AzBilliards can be such an educational forum. Thanks, Bob!
