Why Not Rotation?

If the the Filipinos are, as a whole, the best players in the world, and their proficiency can indeed be credited to playing rotation, -That's what I'm always hearing from video commentators- then why aren't more people in the U.S. pushing for and playing rotation?

Thanks

Mostly because they aren't the best players because they play Rotation.

14.1 is the game I tell people that are just starting to play. Then 3-cushion if they have a billiard table available. At the same time I tell them to get a game of partner rotation in the form of money ball (5 ways/=4 money balls and 1 way total points). This is a great game to have fun (with low stakes/$1 or $2 a way, good gambling game, and it puts more pressure on you not to let your partner down.
After the above games 9-ball and the rest become easier to become good at IMO. Johnnyt

I also like 14.1, but I don't see it really developing areas like tough shot making, kicking, banking, safety play (to an extent), cue ball control over large distances, and so on.

I think a steady diet of 1-pocket and rotation makes for a very strong and very well-rounded player.

Yes, when I was just playing 14.1, I could run balls but was not the shotmaker I am today.

I completely burnt out on straight pool from a competitive standpoint. To me, it's nowhere near as fun as playing 9ball.
