Here my question on endorsements or sponsorship. Did Allison while endorsing APA, really play in the APA League during those time or anytime??? I realize she no longer with APA.

So appearance should always supersede talent? That's inane and shallow. I also fail to see how it's perceived as jealousy when a girl voices her opinion. If that were the case, we wouldn't be supporting any other female players. To my knowledge, I've never seen a bad thing written or said about Jeanette Lee, Jennifer Barretta, Jasmin Ouschan, Rayanne Harvala, Sarah Rousey, Loree Jon Jones, Ewa Lawrence, Ga Young Kim... to name a few just off the top of my head. Everyone on this forum already plays pool so what new attention has been brought? And if she weren't attractive, we'd all still be wondering how someone who can't run three balls got a sponsorship. But couldn't you say that about half of the WPBA members who have sponsers? Alot of ladies who are not very good players, have sponsers that a man would never get if he were of equal skill! Because lets face it you don't have to play very well to get on the WPBA! Half the field in those tournaments couldn't win any of the regional amateur tours, and it shows because those so called pro's are allowed to play in most amateur tours. Sex sells get over it! Women get perks men who play WAY better would never get! So quit knocking someone who loves to play pool,for getting something givin to them. You're right about Sharapova, though. She has the total package. Tennis is a tough sport and top pros retire early, with the champions getting younger and younger.
If Shanelle plays her cards right and practices a lot, she could end up a bigger sportswoman that Jeannette Lee. I think at some point she would feel that her looks are a curse than a blessing. Nobody takes pretty girls seriously....

I live in S.Florida where sweetness wouldn't get a first or second look. Shannelle on the other hand would probably get a look anywhere in the world except the one end of Key West. Not just for skills, but do you know "Black Widow" is recognized world wide like 1 out of 10 people? People who don't know/play pool knows Black Widow! She is the most recognized and popular billiard ambassador in the World today and you think Shanelle has a chance to match or surpass Jeannette's stature?!? Some point when?

It makes no sense what so ever that SEVERAL men posted here that she's done great things for pool...um other being a big deal on this forum what has she accomplished to be considered to have done "good for the game?" I am really confused.
People here want to give her a chance...Uhh excuse me, but she's already got a chance. Only chance she really wants is in the pool industry. She's got a very "dedicated" management behind her and a major cue gig... She's steps ahead in "chanced given" department than most of us.
If 10 years later, she's still playing pool passionately and actively involved in the billiard industry then she will earn her respect from the pool enthusiasts. So there.
And by the way, when Jeannette Lee was about Shanelle's age (today), Jeannette was already a Women's World Champion! She's got ways to go...
For the record, I am all for Shanelle embracing all the attention and opportunity that was handed to her. Good for her, but she's not that special to be compared to Jeannette Lee, purely based only upon her looks... Will she ever be? She will have to prove it.:wink:
