Wyoming Will said:How many Shanelles are we going to be allowed before the sport loses all credibility? The problem with sponsoring her, parading her infront of audiences, promoting her has to do with what the rest of the world is going to think. Jeanette Lee's looks may have gotten the world's attention but it's her world class skill that keeps the customer.
Fact is, you go to any major tournament and there are beautiful women aplenty that can hold a cue. In fact, some of those beautiful women are on the pro tour or have done serious damage at the amateur events. They have put off career moves, held back on having families, spent countless hours in the poolroom so that they could be ready for the next big event. To have a sponsor come along and overlook these devoted women and sponsor a pin-up is insulting and very unmotivating.
Hey, I'd be first in line to take that girl out for dinner but I can understand why some women are upset. I've seen her play. She's a pin-up, not a player.
I am one of those who have put it off for my kids. And you are right on how depressing it makes me feel that I couldn't have gotten an offer like that cause I KNOW I was a player, and I KNOW I could get to "that" level (if I wasn't already there).......but I don't hate on Shanelle, or any girl pool player for that matter. I encourage any and all girls for whatever their reasons to pick up the cue. Now I don't mean to walk around with a chip on your shoulder like you're some bad ass, pay your dues and become a player to earn that respect. I just want other girls to see (or hope to) why I love to play the game....and you never know when you might inspire someone to become a world-class player.
I think that shes gotta make a living too...even if it's off her boobs/ass/face, etc. (yes I said it). If she practices REALLY hard there is a slight chance of her becoming a top player. So, for my 2 cents: Let it be, she is lucky to have gotten whatever deals she has gotten. I do believe that there are A LOT more deserving girls out there, but some people are luckier in that sense, can't hate/dog em for that. I respect her as a person, just not quite yet as a player.
I think she is good to attract people to the game/sport, but it would be even better if she played at LEAST A speed:frown: I'm sure she knows that she is nowhere near competition level of play and that is probably exactly why she stays the hell away from it..lol!!! In any of the US amatuer womens tours she wouldn't fare well, and that would look bad for her sponsorships if she can't win...I'm sure she knows this. All us other girls who know what it's like to play that level, know it too, that she is basically a stepping stone (of course unless you hand it to her...afterall she is a C player

So I really think the bashing is unnecessary....cause I don't think she "believes" she is that good anyway, if she did, she'd be out there in the hunt in every possible tournament she could enter. Especially in Florida where amateur tournaments are abundant in and around the area.
Too bad I was on and island approximately 3000 miles from the westcoast of mainland USA
