Why Shanelle should be given a chance?

Going to hit balls into the rail. Be back later to see if all of pools problems have been solved by attacking the beautiful. Don't hate the player hate the game.

???????????????????????????????????????????????????? WHAT?????????????????????????????

See, that's what I thought. You don't understand my opinion, now do you? This may be a transaction between a private company and a private person but it's OUR sport and these transactions affect how OUR sport is perceived. My opinion is that I would prefer it companies sponsored professionals and the legitimate up and coming amateurs, not pin-ups. I think our sport is better off that way and I think our sport will inevitably pay the price for a company's short-sighted quest for immediate returns.

Some people need to get a life? Is this all you do in your life is find ways to criticize others who are getting something you are not? Do you whine and moan every time some 18 year old gets a $50 million contract or hit a ball or toss it into a hoop? probably. Unless you are the person delegating the funds and deciding what goes where and to whom, who cares.

I would be willing to say that no one here even knows Shanelle or anything about her, yet everyone thinks they have some sort of input and say in her life. I do know her, and have since she was 18, and she is just like everyone else, except also she is very beautiful, friendly, articulate, has a wonderful personality, and oh, she loves pool. She is working very hard at pool, not to become what everyone "thinks" she ought to be, but because she loves to play. Charlie has latched on to her, for his own benefit, because he saw her marketing potential, especially in Asia. Its not a bad thing, its actually a smart business decision despite what you may think of CW.

Everyone wants attention and $ to be thrown at pool, yet when someone like Shanelle accomplishes this, people are up in arms because it wasn't to their approval. Who cares? Predator doesnt pay her hoardes of money to use her image, rather a small stipend and a couple nice industry perks. Maybe some of the attention she brings to pool will raise the interest of pool worldwide and create more opportunities for sponsorships for all those people that some think "deserve" to be sponsored. As the old saying goes, "Never look a gift horse in the mouth" :)

If it makes you feel better to attack someone then please post your religion so I never make the mistake of visiting this church. Or are you off your holier than thou kick? Seems like you are.
How does religion come into play or are you just too inane to come up with a valid argument. /rhetorical

I'm sharing my opinion. I don't know the girl. I don't care if I ever do. If you or anyone see that as jealousy or passing judgement, I can't argue with ignorance.

No one can control whose pants CW is trying to get into and the means he goes about doing it, but she's getting spots in tournaments where someone more deserving is missing out. There are ladies who can actually play that barely scrape by and many who end up quitting that could use a sponsor, and she has TWO.

No just make sense.

Son, there's nothing I can do for you here. You either get it or you don't. Now maybe if you're having problems with this debate-thing, you should just stick to playing pool.

This is a great post...and exactly how I feel about Shanelle! Her being sponsored doesn't affect other poolplayers one bit. She's not taking tournament spots, that would otherwise go to some better skilled player. In fact, as Blackjack said, she's not even competing against American women. However, I believe if she did, it would help her to improve her skill.

some people missed the point here. being selected as an endorser of a product and getting sponsorship is a privilege, not a right. the company has the final word on this on who they want as a sales representative.

having to play pool is both a right and a privilege. everybody is allowed to play pool. players play to qualify and enter tournaments. if you don't qualify, you can still play on other tourneys. simple.

being good at pool doesn't equate automatic endorsement. you can be the greatest player on earth but if you cant sell S-H-I-T, then you dont get the deal. Charisma plays a part on this one.

some people are mad at her because she is getting attention. it's not her fault if she's an average player who sells. well, it's not her problem but your problem. only solution, make yourself marketable as well. whether you like it or not, Shanelle will not dress up like you, just to make you happy and say that it is fair.

you guys should be happy that she is making an effort to learn and participate in pool and not just there to pose and sell products like most models are. pool needs people like her having interest in pool. the more, the merrier. pool is not an exclusive fraternity for the pros, nor does endorsement deals and sponsorships.

If you would read the other posts you would see the argument. Why dont you sponsor these deserving women? Why attack someone? You should contact her sponsor, I'm sure they will get rid of her immediately & get someone more deserving. Maybe you could give them a list. Good luck

Jason, I've read the other posts and I don't understand how Marissa's religion is an issue, either. Son, if you want people to see what you're trying to say, you're going to have to do a better job explaining yourself. By the way, are you sponsoring Shanelle or are you just a hot head with a big mouth?

Sponsership is advertising is exposure is sales is income dollars. Not skill levels. Why would a green Gecko be expected to be skilled in insurance terms? He's cute, it's advertising. I personally think it would be cool for a cue manufactuer to sponsor the homely gal who rubs cashews behind her ears. It is advertising. Probably ninty percent of pool players are bangers anyway and couldn't relate to the Pros skill sets. Besides, she is easy on the eyes.

reminds me of LACOSTE !!! :D

Problems? Debate? What is there to debate? She has the job you don't get over it.

I'm not the one complaining about her being sponsored you are. I could care less who is sponsored ,if someone has a sponsor good for them, if not oh well get out there and market yourself. It's not going to change my life. You should probably be worried about your own income instead someone being sponsored.

Didnt know this was being graded. Doubt anything will make you a better man. Are you a school teacher?

No, I'm not a teacher which is all the reason why I don't want to be bothered with your laziness or lack of education (take your pick). Thank you for your comment, too. I know some believe I've reached perfection but I do believe there's something still out there that will make me better.

Still driving a porsche & living on the beach with 6 months off a year. Guess sentence structure isn't that important afterall.

Okay, imagine if this were a baseball team and the Kansas City Royals decided to boost attendance, they would sign Angelina Jolie to play first-base. Now, let's say the Royals step up and tell everyone she's practicing every day with the best people and that she's trying her hardest in the minor leagues right now. You don't think the whole country would go nuts?

dude, we are talking about pool here, not baseball. baseball can be discussed on the NPR section by the way.
