Why daddy why ?!?!
Hello Az .
Last night I had a parental moment with my 8 year old son ..I was in the kitchen, putting the finishing touches on some lasagna(yummy) when Josh comes in looking upset and confused ..I asked him what's wrong ..He began to tell me about the recreation he and his fellow summer camp mates were involved in ..He said that the center installed a pool table upstairs in the game room to go along with the ping pong tables etc..
Well, because I have never exposed him to pool,he had absolutely zero knowledge of the game or how it's played ..All he knew was that daddy was pretty good at it . So anyway , He went on to tell me that he watched a few boys playing, and he made an observation :They would always shoot the black ball (eight)last ..
"Why daddy Why ?".. is what he asked me .."is pool racist?" ..I could'nt help but laugh a little bit ..afterall,I have'nt exposed him or any of my children to billiards(for reasons that would start another thread) .So the first thing I did was comfort him and reassure him that pool was not a racist game ..I even told him that the black ball was a special ball because after pocketing it you win ..His little brown eyes lit up and then he gave me a knowing smile .
He is far too young to understand all of the intricacies of 8 ball ..I just kept it simple with him and now he feels better about going to camp and playing with his friends ..
awwwwww..The joys of parenthood
