Will AzB Be Here in 2020?

AzB will still be here, but it will be an advertisement for CJ Wiley's TOI DVD's.

There will also be a small memorial for those to grieve over John Barton's loss to Lou.

The 'for sale' forum will become a distant memory of a once great and powerful empire.

AzB will remain administrated and moderated by the same three people.

4 point, 5 veneer, 50 inlay, 64" cues will be known as Sneaky Petes.

The US Open will still be a sham run by Barry.

Shane will have won his 7th consecutive US Open, only to lose his 8th attempt to a 12 year old from North Korea.

And

The Mosconi Cup will be played on Bar Box tables, alternate break, race to 100.

Haha that's pretty funny will the USA win on the bar table?

It's going to be tough for team USA to fade the short races to 100. Alternating break should calm their nerves a bit. I mean, who isn't chill when you could possibly be playing a 199 game set?

Yes it will and it will probably be around the same size as now, maybe a little smaller (like 5-25%).
The younger crowd will probably be more active on facebook and think forums a thing of the past.

The way technology is changing I don't see forums being around awhole lot longer. But it's longer than 5 years so yeah AZ will be around.. You already are seeing a few posters go the way of the dinasaur and take up on FB... The real time back and forth without refreshing is pretty cool as well as the ability to moderate on your own threads is a big draw.... Most of the professional players are fairly active on FB and they won't be caught dead in here.....

I would say that whatever the next big thing is that replaces the book of faces will likely make social interactions even easier.... Nothing is forever... But nothing is saying AZ may not migrate to a new platform as those emerge and exist as something besides being a forum......

This.

I think forums will turn into more of a resource than a means of interaction. Kind of like big subject specific wiki's if you will. I have seen facebook doing a lot of what used to go on here. Several reasons for that but I think the big one is that if someone says something you dont like you can plonk them. This makes people feel better but is not the best for getting good information.

It really is amazing the amount of information in this forum over the years. I hope it stays around for a long time because when it goes a lot of knowledge and history will go with it.

I think AZ billiards will still be around 5 years from now. The only issue is whether the signal to noise ratio of trolls will curtail meaningful postings. John Barton, when not engage in a flame war, give valuable insight on case making.

AZ is a valuable resource if people use the online search feature. If its too hard use, maybe the operators of AZ would consider a different User Interface such as wiki. It would require crowd sourcing to curate the best posts on a given subject.

In 2020 AZB will still be here, and we will still be arguing over
1. aiming systems,
2. the "best"cue, tips, chalk
3. do LD shafts really work,
4. do you look at the OB or the CB last,
5. FHE or BHE or PE
6. Glove or no glove
7. Light or heavy cue for the break
8. Etc., etc., etc......

I'll come back in 5 years and check.

Propagandization of Information

I would cancel my membership eventually and likely many others would follow, if this happened because this would be propagandization of popular information. There would only be the information available that gained approval of the masses and little room for innovative free thought. It would stifle opinion and leave control up to more politically correct thought with no freedom of expression. How you could advocate a system whereby freedom is regulated is beyond me but if that works for you....more power to you but its not for me.

Sounds like a true nightmare, the next thing you know they would hauling you to jail for your billiard beliefs.

I think it will still be here, but it will have been purchased by the newly formed IAPB (International Association of Pool and Billiards).

Due to the new video format of the forums, membership will have dropped substantially after we all finally get a look at "Sev", "Chef Jeff", "Bushwacker", and some new guy that speaks Pig Latin and wears a mask that calls himself "Ginger Snaps Back".

Membership will steadily increase back to normal numbers and members when we begin to get a look the the new live video versions of the threads, "Sexually Seductive Sundays", "Local Hottie Mondays" "Tit-For-Tat Tuesday", "Wed Head Wednesday", "Girls with Guns Thursdays", "Foxy Fridays", "Ex-Wife Saturdays" and "Sexy Big Girls" and also "Girls with Bacon"

There will also be a daily members challenge match featuring members of the New AZ Billiards in the recently built Thunderdome (renovated TAR Restroom), - "Two men enter, one man leaves"

OMGWTFRU will be the new, one and only moderator.

I can hardly wait !!!

I just hope I can find all my parts needed to get my AMF Grand Prix back in shape by 2020. Never knew how hard it would be to find everything!!! Thanks to Rob, and Ken I'm as far as I am, and without this site I wouldn't be.

The Touch of Inside - Over ONE BILLION Running Out Time after Time after Time........

AzB will still be here, but it will be an advertisement for CJ Wiley's TOI DVD's.
