As soon as someone figures this out if you would let Mike and I know it would be appreciated.
Please give us a little more time.
We should have something definitive by tomorrow.
If there is a tomorrow...

best,

I hope so, for the rest of you. I prolly won't be though, if Lymphoma has a say in it.
AzB will still be here, but it will be an advertisement for CJ Wiley's TOI DVD's.
There will also be a small memorial for those to grieve over John Barton's loss to Lou.
The 'for sale' forum will become a distant memory of a once great and powerful empire.
AzB will remain administrated and moderated by the same three people.
4 point, 5 veneer, 50 inlay, 64" cues will be known as Sneaky Petes.
The US Open will still be a sham run by Barry.
Shane will have won his 7th consecutive US Open, only to lose his 8th attempt to a 12 year old from North Korea.
And
The Mosconi Cup will be played on Bar Box tables, alternate break, race to 100.
Haha that's pretty funny will the USA win on the bar table?
The way technology is changing I don't see forums being around awhole lot longer. But it's longer than 5 years so yeah AZ will be around.. You already are seeing a few posters go the way of the dinasaur and take up on FB... The real time back and forth without refreshing is pretty cool as well as the ability to moderate on your own threads is a big draw.... Most of the professional players are fairly active on FB and they won't be caught dead in here.....
I would say that whatever the next big thing is that replaces the book of faces will likely make social interactions even easier.... Nothing is forever... But nothing is saying AZ may not migrate to a new platform as those emerge and exist as something besides being a forum......
Forget AZ Billiards, I hope I'm still here in 2020!![]()
Just wondering what others think about AzB's long term prospects.
So, what do you think?
best,

This.
I think forums will turn into more of a resource than a means of interaction. Kind of like big subject specific wiki's if you will. I have seen facebook doing a lot of what used to go on here. Several reasons for that but I think the big one is that if someone says something you dont like you can plonk them. This makes people feel better but is not the best for getting good information.
It really is amazing the amount of information in this forum over the years. I hope it stays around for a long time because when it goes a lot of knowledge and history will go with it.
I think AZ billiards will still be around 5 years from now. The only issue is whether the signal to noise ratio of trolls will curtail meaningful postings. John Barton, when not engage in a flame war, give valuable insight on case making.
AZ is a valuable resource if people use the online search feature. If its too hard use, maybe the operators of AZ would consider a different User Interface such as wiki. It would require crowd sourcing to curate the best posts on a given subject.
To know what will happen in 2020 requires great vision.
