I have an opportunity to purchase a lizard print copy of winning one pocket from a good friend (the one with the multiple autographs ). My problem is that I don't want to offer to little or pay too much. I'm hoping that there are some knowledgeable AZ members out there that would be able to give me an idea of what might be a fair price. Please don't tell me that something is only worth was someone's willing to pay! I need help not philosophy. You can pm me if you like. Thanks

I've never, not one time ever had an issue with buying or selling something to a friend.

Now if we are talking about a "good" pool hall friend"n then that is a whole different story.

Probably about. 1k

Individually signed autographs or the stamped signatures? I don't think the stamped issue was that big a deal -- maybe 200-250 at most IMHO. Lizard and individually signed for a friend, more than that if you wanted to approach value because there were not many of those (as far as I know) but not a grand. I'm thinking 400 would be very fair for a friend

Autographs appear to be genuine. Boston Shorty, Jack Brett etc. Top players of the day who collaborated with the author by sharing their expertise in the game.

the value also depends on 1st edition (with errata sheets??)

or 2nd edition?(worth more)

most of these replies do not appear to make the distinction between the genuine lizard and the standard edition
i sent you a pm

I was actually going to tell you to contact Deanoc. He has a great deal of knowledge when it comes to these books.

If I remember correctly there were 3 different variations to these.

You had the regular ones which you see for sale on here all the time. $150 to $250
??copies

Then you have a Leather bound cover (textured like a basketball) $300 to $500
I heard less then 250 copies

Then you had a Lizard bound $1500++++
I heard only 10 copies

Now dont hold me to these prices or qty. ammounts. Just going by my memory of what I have heard over the years.

You can get the non-lizard skin ones for $150 to $250 each. Usually the "bonded leather" version doesn't get much more than the smooth-bound version.

I have seen a pair said to be lizard skin go for $475 on Ebay, but I think a more typical price is $500 to $700 each. I assume the signatures are real as opposed to stamped.

Based on content only, how valuable is this book?

I've heard the legend of this offering and a pool friend says he has it, but won't bring it out of his "vault" to even let me see it.

Will it truly enlighten someone to the finer points of 1-pocket?

Lizard books

I am pretty sure there were 32 of the actual leather bound. Plus 1 set that was. 'Sample' - that mKes 33 of the real leather.

Last I heard was about 1000 per book.

Where is the book located currently... Would go a long way in establishing the path it took to availability as I think the original buyers of the exclusive version were documented... Just tracking it back to the original buyer might be worth some cash simply because they are not your common pool players.....
