Wish me luck everyone.I won an entry in the party poker poker news tournament tomorrow.2 trips gauranteed to melbourne australia,entry fee,hotels,airfare.($6,000)package.And the nice thing is theres only 38 players so far.g'day mate.Even Jay would be proud of me if I won that one,hey Jay?

I'm sure there'll be more players. Don't expect too small a field. Even a 100 player field can be tough. So don't take it lightly. Play the same game that got you there. Try to build up your stack early when players are more cautious. Create small pots and win/steal them.

If you have a big stack, you have a lot of power. USE IT to increase your stack. You can tighten up later when you get in the money. Look for premium hands and put the pressure on the other guys. BET FIRST! Now, go win that thing! And enjoy your vacation either before or after the tournament.

what a treat! if allowed, try extend that airfare for a few more weeks. melbourne and victoria is absolutely gorgeous now and months ahead, super nice place to be. good luck in your game jimmy.

Just to let everyone know,I LOST.Finished 20th.Was cheap leader,dealt QQ,Flop came Q,8,9.Raised semi huge bet to scare people away.Turn came K.Moved all in,guy called ,he flopped straight.f'ing piss me off.lol.oh well.I tryed.:D

Shit happens. You got your money in with a good hand. This means he called pre fop with J,T. Right? Did you raise pre flop with Q,Q? Just curious.

Thats exactly what I was going to ask :)

In a tourney of that importance with only 20 players left, you HAVE to raise with queens (IMO) and if he got called by J 10 then the J 10 must have had a much bigger stack and decided to gamble with a marginal hand.
