Appleton was ahead 9-6 but now hill hill
hope he didn't hurt his hand celebrating
X2This Christopher Tevez from Peru is no joke. I had never even heard of him and he is taking down champion after champion.
Yes, it is frequently said that 10-Ball eliminates 2-way shots, but this is (usually) wrong.I keep hearing that call pocket 10 ball does not allow for 2 way shots like 9 ball and I can't figure out why. I am thinking that a 2 way shot is when you try to pocket a difficult object ball and try to hide the cue ball or put it in a difficult place on the table so if you miss your opponent will have a tough time pocketing the missed ball. I cannot understand why this can't be done in 10 ball. What I am missing? I don't believe 2 way is trying to pocket 2 object balls in the same stroke or is that what they are talking about?
He did let it get away. Capito gave it back to him though, after a great shot on the 2 ball that looked like it would win him the match.Darren almost let that one get away from him. What a story that would be if Darren took this down.
Correct. Call shot call safe rules eliminate all two-way shots, but call shot merely eliminates the kind of shot in which you give yourself extra chances by playing more than one object ball. I've never heard anyone suggest that call shot alone eliminates all two way shots. As you correctly indicate, it only eliminates some of them.Yes, it is frequently said that 10-Ball eliminates 2-way shots, but this is (usually) wrong.
WPA rules do not eliminate the most common form of 2-way shot, where you play to make a ball but leave your opponent safe if you miss. Under WPA rules, the option to return a shot happens only in the cases of (1) pocketing a ball on a called safety, (2) pocketing the called ball in a wrong pocket, or (3) pocketing a non-called ball when missing the called ball. There is no option to return the shot after a normal missed shot, so most 2-way shots are not eliminated.
A second type of two-way shot is where you try to make either or both of two balls. E.g., the 5-ball is the lowest-numbered ball on the table and you try to make either the 5-ball or the 10-ball (which might be hanging near a pocket). WPA rules require that you designate only one ball and one pocket, so they do eliminate this type of two-way shot. [Also note that an early 10-ball is no longer a game winner under WPA rules.]
The 10-Ball rules in Tony Robles' Predator Tour (no longer exists) did also eliminate the first type of 2-way shot, as the incoming player had the option to make his opponent shoot again after a miss.
Great! Thank you. The second type you talk about - specifically making the 10 ball while attempting to pocket another ball is not a win situation in tournaments where the 10 has to be the last ball pocketed so it diminishs the need for 2 way shots argument. The notion that 10-Ball eliminates 2-way shots is frequently said, but wrongly.

Or just stop using their lousy bracket page that has two frames and use the single frame URL:Thanks- it confused me at first because you have to scroll all the way down- not the most fan friendly interface
He is the new Ceasar MoralesIt sure looks like it's gonna be Kaci and Shaw in the final. Must admit, I've never heard of Chris Tevez, who is not among the Top 100 based on Fargo. That said, given who he has beaten, including Alcaide (803), Biado (815), Morra (788) and Jungo (776), he must be quite the player. The last time a player I'd never heard of won a sanctioned WPA sanctioned World Championship was in 2003 when Thorsten Hohmann won the World 9-ball.
They used to say the exact same thing about Kaci, long known for his slow play, but he has demonstrated that he can make the adjustment when the clock shot is on. Seems likely Tevez can do the same.... he has to play with the shot clock he might be under more pressure. Looking at him on the side table he takes his time, which he will not have on the TV table.
Knowing when a match is going to start might be nice, also (like now). The worst part about this tournament is the absurd number of breaks they take.
People are still playing on the side tables so they won't know. They need to have clocks on the side tables it's taking way too long.Knowing when a match is going to start might be nice, also (like now).
