WORLD 10 BALL CHAMPIONSHIP (6-10 Sep 2021), Las Vegas, 9ft, Winner $35K

Looks like Biado could not lock down the speed of the table. He got very frustrated, but did maintain discipline the Filipinos are known for.

Did anyone confirm if the referee gave him a bad call on the kick early in his game against Oi? Terrible, if that was the case in an era where replay is available and the fact that the player contested the call. Referees should not be making the difference.
I'm not sure what happened with that call. I think it was clearly a good hit. Leymann is human of course, but Biado has to be sore over that call. That said, I think Oi outplayed Biado other than the break, though it was not a perfect match by any means. The reason it got so close was Oi could not manage to make balls on the break. Biado had more errors, mostly due to the speed as you mentioned.

Final four: Three Asians and one European.
Seems about right to me, no? Imagine if Shane retired? You don't get to a top USA player by a few metrics until you hit Sky (Dechaine doesn't count) using Fargo as an example.

Yes, a bit of a replay of the 2019 US Open 9-ball, where the final eight (Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz, Josh Filler, Jeff DeLuna, Wu Jiaqing, YL Chang, Alex Pagulayan, Liu Haitao, Wang Can) had six Asians and two Europeans, or, if you prefer, five Asians, two Europeans and one Canadian.

With the 2021 US Open 9-ball just three days away, I'm hoping for better from the American contingent.

Tough field, but still missing Wu, Ko brothers, Kevin Cheng, and still exist a few more from China/Taiwan

Yes, unless Shane would've won, then the haters would've come up with some excuse to claim it wasn't legit...

Jaden
On the flip side, the SVB fan club will be blaming the rules and equipment since he didn’t win.

can, haitao, zheng, lee van, bustie.. but it was still a monster field. just look at those who have already fallen, before the semis:

filler
svb
shaw
gorst
chang
biado
orcullo
alex

whoever wins this will have earned it.

i think kaci, who has been awol most of the year because of travel reasons, has a massive incentive in securing his mosconi spot. he's breaking good and playing good. if yapp can play as flawless as he did against shaw however, kaci will be in trouble. i don't see the other semi producing a champion, but then again i've only seen a little of chua

Yes, most notably missing the defending champion, Ko Ping Chung.

So is this considered a legit World title for the winner?
Yes, the WPA sanctioning of this event as a world championship makes it 100% legit. The fact that Stage 2 was not handled in the customary manner used in every other WPA sanctioned event we have ever seen does not change this. The winner will have won a sanctioned WPA World 10-ball Championship.

There's no room for debate when the WPA sanctions an event as a world championship. Somebody is about to win their first WPA sanctioned world 10-ball championship, but who will it be? Good luck to the four outstanding players that remain.

Haven't seen that yet. He just got beat...it happens. I don't understand the hate some have for Shane. Seems like there are some that are almost giddy that he lost...

CSI has lots of room for improvement on the Brackets, TV Schedule, etc. We are all used to Pat and Accu-Stats! Maybe CSI and Matchroom should just hire Accu-Stats as consultant.

It's odd that you're only seeing the hater posts and not the super-fan posts.

I can summarize them for you: "Shane works his ass off on the 10-ball break, and the new Predator rack negates that (not sure how, but it does)". "Alternate break format sucks." "Pockets are too big."

CSI is also the only one who gets it.....free stream.

Agree. Just look at the number of links provided by the original poster and you could see the problem. They need to provide all the information/links on one site. Not every pool player worldwide read this site. However, appreciate the information provided by spartan.
