World 10 Ball Silence

No Pun intended against Berry but I guess he was also a victim and was also fooled to believe by the WPA that there was indeed money in the tournament. the question is if there was really money even before the tournament started? now, due to the fact of the failure of the organizers/promoters of the said event to pay the prize monies at the given payment dates, would clearly mean that there isn't really enough money to pay the participants right from the start. there isn't any logical or reasonable alibis (not even one) as how and why the promoters of the event weren't able to pay on time.

now, if Berry didn't reply to your PMs' Roy, then it is quite obvious that Berry got embarrassed due to his confidence in the WPA's promise. anyway, regardless of being embarrassed, he should pay his dues immediately unless he is following Yen's example of silence or promise of two weeks payment and counting.

Even AFTER the statement of the WPA I said that the window is open, but people didn't want to bet... I only got 2 bets...

For Berry not replying my PM, I don't think he is online that much on this forum. Will just have to wait and see. I am confident that he will pay, he is nothing like KT or YM:D

Doyou remember when Doug posted that money from RAYA didn't come 'til 3 days before the finals in the last WPC? That money is from a loan that got collected now. Where then will the WTBC prize money come from? I know..I know..if somebody buys RAYA for 20M

Now, if we'd estimate that Matchroom nets about 1.5M Pesos from the "right to hold the WPC" then basing from this amount times the 7 years left of the WTBC franchise then RAYA only costs 10.5M. Still not enough.

I wonder who Yen is borrowing the money from? We'll find out...sooner than you think....erm 2 weeks from now....erm..this coming Friday.....erm Just Wait!

The organisers of the Philippines versus the Rest of the World challenge match wanted. Darren Appleton and Konstantin Stepanov to play in this event. They could each have picked up almost $4000 as losers or double that figure as members of the winning team (with expenses paid).

Now Darren has suffered a double blow. He blew a realistic chance of winning the US Open because of the worry of wondering if he was going to get his $100,000. It caused him to lose his legendary focus

Well Roy, I almost want to bet the $40 credit I have with you that Berry won't pay you. :-)

This is really sad. Truly.

I hope that I live to see to see the day when threads like this one never appear on online forums.

I hope that the day comes when all we argue about is who is going to dominate the next tournament.

I really hope that the players get paid, but more importantly, I hope that the players get smart and realize that the power lies with themselves.

It's so sad that only a handful of guys like you and Roy took BMPAP's warning seriously. The tell-tale signs
were there, and Bandido was just the messenger, and guess what? He was almost branded by most of the
rail birds here who knew next to nothing about pool in the Philippines as a rumor mongerer, the merchant of
doom for pool, the destabilizer of the WTBC. Even the admin are not spared from Yen's poisonous charm.

I really hope we are all wrong about this and Raya pays up in a day or two, it's better late than never, for the players sake...

we can also hope that this would also be the end of arrogance for some people and show more humility, despite of the fact they they are in position. the thinking of just because you are at the helm, makes you believe that you are untouchable and thus, makes the better of your character. that's how politics can transform a person.

I'm with you HMS, let's forget about this for a moment and watch the ongoing Guinness 9-Ball Tour
Jakarta Leg Grand Finals! It's sweet shooting Dennis Orcullo against Wang Hung Hsiang right now!

I think that we can forget it for another 48 hours until the banks open on Monday. Get out and play some pool. I'm off to the club.

Darren Appleton said this, 1 hour ago.

basically everybody talking and asking about world 10ball payment as to date nobody been paid yet.:-(. and the organisers not said anything which is a little annoying ...and it just took my focus away from playing in the tournament 100% and at this level you get punished ..just hope get paid soon for 10ball then can take break for a week or two... and come back stronger and mentally better prepared.. the last 2 events i done ok considering i had no preparation and the matches i lost i didnt have the best of luck and opponents got handfulls of it.. but thats way it goes ...

thanks everybody for messages and support really helps ... i think the final 2 places in mosconi cup team get picked next week for team europe i hope i done enough this year to get picked which would be my goal for year achieved ...along with been world champion :-) fingers crossed!

dynamite
Darren, you have to be a shoe in for one of the picks. It would be insane for you not to be. Good luck in the future.

It's about time they came up with something even in a form of an announcement!

Should I pop it open now? Or should I put it on ice sputnik?

The announcement is at least a development... though delayed somewhat. Hope that everything turns out fine for the sake of the people who need to get paid.

It's about time that they somewhat calm the natives and buy some time.
Even newspaper editors are getting antsy and Tony's using up all his favors. Time is Money.

a great idea!

It's in print on AZ Billiards. That should be it, right?

Being always interested in a money making idea, all this give me your bank account info gave me a great idea. I'm going to hold a huge tournament offering a big payout, say ten million since I don't plan on paying it anyway.

Then when I don't pay at the end of the event I will collect the bank account information from all the top pool players in the world. That way I can rip them all off with the old ID theft gag.

The one minor fly in the ointment is I figure that if I can steal the top twenty or so player's bank accounts it will net me about $477.83US. Of course it could work out worse than that, stealing their ID's might leave me lacking fourteen dollars having twenty-seven cents!(Apologies to RayS)

It is good to see an official statement, but I am disturbed by the fact that this statement implies they don't currently have the funds in their account to pay with. (If they did they would simply have sent out the wires by now.) This suggests they are waiting for funds to come from elsewhere, which means there is always a chance that they won't.

I sincerely hope this is just a temporary delay and everyone gets paid.

October 30-31, hmmm good luck to everyone(players and staffs), hope all of you receive your well-deserved payments.
