World Championship 9 Ball live now

Nice stream, but the commentators NEVER stop talking. I don't know what they're saying but I think they're trying to impress their audience. It's way too much talk! A sure sign of amateurs in the booth.

kinda reminds me of our commentator's style.... especially when you get two commentators trying to get "one up" on each other, with their knowledge of the game.

I believe the commentators would do well to describe what the player did to excel, rather than try outguessing the player...

Notice the sponsors -- Exxon/Mobil and Coca Cola. I hope that grows.

I've been watching for about 20 minutes now, and the two commentators haven't stopped talking for 2 seconds.

Efren scratches on the first break and Caneda Villamor runs two racks. They are using alternate break. Efren breaks in the third rack, great cut on the one, misses a tough reverse bank on the two but gets the safe. Villamor kicks the two in!

V. runs the rack, 3-0. V. breaks.

(I guess someone told the announcers that dead air is evil. They've got Handel for background music so it would be fine with me if they just were quiet.)

Diamond tables with what look like big pockets (on the hot, probably very, very dry TV table.) Looks like they are using the Magic Rack.

V. makes a ball, has a shot on the 1, tough to get on the 2 ... great position. Tough finesse shot for the 3 and just barely hooks himself behind the 6. The safe leaves a shot and Efren starts...

Efren gets out for a 1-3 trailing score. Efren's break. The ref is wearing white gloves and cleans the cue ball as he hands it to Efren. Wing ball, but hooked on the one. Push out, half the one is visible...

V. takes the shot, thin hit and a full snooker.

E. kicks with a plus-2 shot but leaves the 1 easy. V. makes the 1 and 2 but hits a ball and self-hooks. Jump stick time. 2 feet to the blocker 2 more feet to the 3, but straight shot. Hit but no ball. Efren misses! V. starts with an easy shot. Bumps the 7 when the spin doesn't take on the 6 but still gets a shot. V. finishes for a 4-1 lead.

Villamor leads 4-1 and breaks.

(On the side of the table below the Diamond logo is "KNIGHT SHOT." Anyone know what that's about?)

V. makes the wing ball (3) and brings the 1 up the table for position. Tough rack to run ... finesse for the two and he bumps the 5 into the open while getting a shot on the 4. Misses a long shot on the 5 but leaves a pretty thin cut.

Efren makes the cut and faces an easy table. Three stop shots and he's out. A big cheer from the fairly large crowd. (Or at least the sections on camera are full.)

Efren breaks trailing 4-2. Wing ball (3, but on the other, left side this time) goes in, good shot on the 1 but tough shape. Efren opts for a long shot on the 2 with nothing fancy on the 1. He runs into the 9 coming off the cushion and leaves tough. Safe but doesn't get the cue ball behind the 7. V. has an easy safe taking the 4 to the other end of the table.

Efren kicks and nearly slices the 4 into the corner. V. begins with a cookie. Simple out and he leads 5-2.

Wish they'd change the camera, you have "way too much zoom" on the players, or "too far away" on the table.

yes the audience seems pretty large... surprising.
Very sad watching Efren plays this way... He looks very uncomfortable, lot of body movements ecc

V. leads 5-2 and breaks.

(The production values of the stream seem pretty good. I assume that it is being broadcast live on local/area TV. Other players on the tables include Peach(?) and Bustamante. The huge scoreboard at the end of the arena says 19:40 -- 7:40 PM. I guess V. is taking a break and Efren is chomping at the bit, ready to go. The arena is surrounded by a railing with big WC9B graphics and all the sponsors in a band at the top.)

V. finally breaks and makes three balls. Misses a long shot on the 3 to start and Efren starts easy on an easy rack. He under draws from the 8 and leaves long on the 9 but slices it in with a little rattle. The crowd cheers. Efren trails 5-3.

thanks for the play by play. I can't get the stream to load, any other links out there?

Efren breaks trailing 5-3. No ball goes in! Also, the cue ball gets kicked into the pocket. V. starts with ball in hand.

All the balls are open. V. takes a surprisingly tricky shot on the 1 just past the 4 but execute well. Good 3-4 shape. Leaves tough on the 5 and comes with a power cross-table twice shot to get on the 6. Three easy shots left for the win and V leads 6-3 and will break.
