Croatia makes 1 on the break with position on the 2. Tough shot, but makes it and leaves a tough 3 with no shape for the 4. Should play safe...and tries to, but leaves it open for Earl. Long 3 ball, and Earl drives it into the rail. Wheels coming off for Earl here. Croatia should be out here, but miss shape on the 5 ball. Another failed safety attempt, only leaving it on the other side of the table. Shane cuts it in and gets shape for the 6 in the side. Earl smooths in the 6 and the USA finishes out the rack. 7-2 final score, USA wins.
 
It will be interesting to see how Daz and Boyes do against the Spaniards. It should be pretty clear cut...but you never know.
 
Good thing it's a team event. IMO, Earl never looked comfortable at the table. Shane played well and kept his teammate in the game. Even at 6-0 Earl looked like he hadn't loosened up. On to the next round!

This is a great way to watch pool. Laptop plugged into the tv and sitting on the couch. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be able to turn on cable (or network) and watch a match like it was a Sunday afternoon football game. But until then, this is very well done. I'm guessing this is what the MC is going to look like. Im looking forward to it

I'm surprised and dissapointed that they aren't running ads for the Mosconi Cup. Would be a perfect opportunity to. IMO they're dropping the ball on this one.
 
I am sensing an upset in England A v Spain
Yesterday there were 2 upsets , 1 in afternoon and 1 in evening
today there was 1 in afternoon already so this will be the upset in evening :thumbup:

Legal break for Spain in the 2nd. Not much there for the 2. The 2-9 would be on if the pocket was not blocked by the 6. Alcaide takes a flyer, but nothing falls. Boyes comes to the table with an open shot on the 2. England clear the rack to bring it to 1-1.
 
Boyes breaks and makes 2, and falls on the 2 ball. England cleans up the rest of the traffic with efficiency and goes 2-1 up.
 
How hard would it be to find a company to do some cool shirts for team usa.

we're always behind the curve when it comes to fashion. I think we should go for the Ryder Cup '99 Sunday look. Those shirts were so horrible they were beautiful.
 
It's killing me our shirts couldn't win the APA t-shirt contest without a huge spot.

Darren breaking in the 3rd, and he scratches in the top corner. Spain goes about clearing the balls, with a few small position errors, but nothing that keeps them from the table. 2-2 now.
 
I've never seen daren Appleton club anyone to death. I wonder if karl brought his helmet.
