Brought back by popular demand! I have just run twenty more copies of this lengthy match (nearly ten hours total) between Ronnie Allen and Danny Diliberto played in 1988. The bet was twenty grand - REAL MONEY! Pretty sporty back then. The match lasted three days and they played three out of five sets, each set a Race To Five. So it's a lot of One Pocket.

It was the last hurrah for Ronnie, perhaps the last time he played at such a high level. I would estimate he played at about 90% of his top speed, still better than anyone else at that time. Danny was still in his prime as well and had been house pro at the Golden Eight Ball (in Phoenix) for over two years. He knew the table (a Brunswick Centennial) and was comfortable in this setting. All this made for some great pool (some shots you will rewind and watch again and again) and even better conversation.

We captured it all on videotape, with a professional crew brought in from Los Angeles. Converted now to DVD, you can see the match in it's entirety. It consists of five DVD's (about two hours each) and I pay for mailing costs on this one. You can order through my website jayhelfert.com. Please add $3 if ordering thru Paypal. That's their commission. Thanx!

P.S. You will have a chance to compare Ronnie's style with Efren and maybe get a glimpse of why I think he was the all time greatest One Pocket player.

This is some great, fun stuff folks! Awesome 1P. Ronnie being Ronnie, and Danny chirping all the while per usual. Some really great, but mutually respectful, bantering.

WOW! I didn't know you had all those great matches for sale on DVD. Very impressive stuff that I'll have to study and decide where to start buying.

By the way Jay, the section where the Ronnie/DD match is for sale has a note below it "both for $45" and there are about 5 DVD's in that section including this big set.

Great stuff that will be guaranteed to seperate me from some of my funds. :groucho:

Jim, the note in that section says "buy both the above DVDs for $45.00", which I assume to mean the (2) 1999 WPC discs. In regards to the Danny/Ronnie match, both versions are very entertaining and full of great shots and moves.

"Both the above DVD's" refers only to the TWO Classic Cup DVD's, which are listed immediately above that. Thanks

That is also correct. Whenever I refer to buying both the above DVD's, it is the two listed immediately prior. I offer this in several places, where there is a two set DVD that cover an event or, in some places, more than one event.

I either produced or was involved in the production of all these shows. On the televised shows, I secured North American video/DVD rights, or was offered the right to sell as payment for my services. The Johnston City DVD is the lone exception, and is now in the public domain.

U got me Jay. I couldn't resist I love watching one pocket before I go to bed its better than taking Ambien.

In all seriousness I can't wait to see Ronnie Allen in action. I never got to see him play.

We ended up making only ten sets of this match. The guy I use copies one DVD at a time, so it is time consuming for him. Four have already been sold, so I have six left. Go to jayhelfert.com to order.

I bought this match from Jay the first time he had it for sale. I purchased the complete 5 disc set and there is some GREAT 1 Hole contained in these dvd's folks. Well worth the money. And, like the last time they were for sale I am sure these dvd's will not last long.

Listen folks. This IS the greatest one pocket match out there.
Trust me. Get the 5 disc set while you can. You won't be sorry.
