WORLD POOL (nineball) CHAMPIONSHIP (6-10 April2022), UK, Winner $60K

Road to the Quarters (Fargo Edition)

Disclaimer, I didn't see Ko Pin Yi for some reason on the FR list. So I just gave him a FR of 815 (for reference Neils is at 810 and Alex P is at 814). I also don't know if I had the right Hassan Shaaz Mohamed. The one I found was rated 638. Anyways...

The players with the toughest road to the Quarter Finals were Joshua Filler, Alyousef, and SVB

Avg FR of each player's opponents
Filler - 783
SVB - 774
Alyousef - 773

Filler and Alyousef both played 3 opponents with FR over 780, SVB played 2.

The players with the easiest road to the Quarter Finals were Albin Ouschan, JL Chang, and Szolnoki

Avg FR of each player's opponents
Ouschan - 761
Chang - 741
Szolnoki - 743

They all played 2 opponents with FR under 760. Except for Chang, who played 3, including his first 2 opponents who were rated under 700

In fairness to Chang, he is the only one to face 2 players with FR over 800.

Edit: I did finally find Ko Pin Yi, and he's at 818. So...close enough.

Inactive pro players are not listed in the top 100 lists. Lots of players have been inactive the last two years. You have to do an individual search and in the case of Ko Pin Yi, that's not easy, at least on a desktop, since "Ko" matches a lot of names.

Those top 4 guys in quarters in a way means Matchroom did quite good job with the draw. 2 in each half though would have been perfect if the 4 were split - one in each of the 4 quarterfinal matches.
LOL. Have to wonder whether we'll ever get a stronger last four than we got at Matchroom's last event, the Premier League Pool, where Albin, Shane, Filler and Shaw were the last ones standing.

Admittedly, this event has built to quite a climax, too!

For those who have a subscription to matchroom.live (which I get for $2/month), you get both table 1 and table 2 along with the interviews. Also, you get to see some behind-the-scenes stuff like the refs setting up the table and the announcers practicing the walk-ons.

Filler/Ouchan on Table 1, Kazakis/Szolnoki on Table 2 now

Gotta wonder how Mike DeChaine manages to stay on the list!!

Bob,
Do you get all the Matchroom pool events televised with subscription?

JJ confused, Filler beat Shane on the B side in 2017 US Open when Shaw won title
JL Chang put SVB on B side in 2016 and then he came back and beat Chang in final

I don't know if it's all. I also have a DAZN subscription, and I don't remember which events are on which.

Matchroom.live includes a lot of Matchroom snooker events. The qualifiers for the Snooker World Championship are on right now, so there are four tables to choose from on matchroom.live.

Ouch, early scratch by Albin in rack 1 and miss on 1 ball in rack 2 and Albin trails Filler 0-2.
B&R rack 3 and 4 and Filler leads 4-0
After losing to Albin in few recent events, looks like Filler has this match in the bag.

JJ is great commentator but yes he does get confused with matches, events
