World Straight Pool Updates from New Jersey

I am impressed by Francisco Bustamante, with his win over Danny Harriman and reaching the Quarterfinals of his first big international 14-1 tournament.

I guess he played in some 14-1 tournaments when he lived in Germany, so he's not unfamiliar with the game.

Anyone know how the Quarterfinals will be?

AWESOME!!! What a huge win for Jasmin.

Thanks for the updates Roy!

Ouschan over Immonen. Mika had a bad miss at 174-172 and Jasmin had to make a very tough eleven ball into the top corner at about 190 to run the match out. The corwd went nuts when she rose to the occasion and nailed it. Shame for Mika, who played well all week, but had one bad match and is out. Also, Bustamante came from behind to beat Harriman.

The quarterfinals are as follows:

Ouschan vs Ortmann and the winner will meet the winner of See vs Bustamante in the semis tomorrow

Feijen vs. Schmidt and the winner will meet the winner of Hohmann vs. VanDenBerg in the semis tomorrow

Feijen, who is playing like a world beater, looks the man to beat for the title right now, but anyone can beat anyone at this stage of the proceedings. It will be hard for the night session to produce the kind of drama that the day session did, but that's what I'm hoping for.

This is fun.
