I know it is ESPN's format, but it compromises the competitiveness of the event, IMO. It should have beens a race to 11 or 13, especially with it only being 1 final race for the money. Sorry, but I am a believer in true double elimination, and if you win the hot seat, then you should have to be beaten twice, not once.
And I am sure Shane has played enough tournaments to know to keep warm while waiting on a final match.
It said Alex started out good (must of broke good) and got up 3-0 right away, but Shane tied him at 5-5. Sounds like Alex won that critical 11th game, and then broke and run for the win. Alex is a much better 'in-game'
player (what happens in the middle of the game, or balls, like from the 2 through to the 8) than what people give him credit for.
Alex must have 'read' the table quicker for breaking than Shane, and I believe it said Shane scratched on a break, which kills you at that level.
