Worthless question of the day

When you put your cue in your case do you put the shaft in tip first or joint first? I put it in joint first. Maybe I'm crazy but I figure it keeps the tip picking up whatever dirt or dust is at the bottom of the case, plus I figure it might help prevent it from warping with the thick end at the bottom instead of the thin end.

Bumpers and tips down , mostly out of old habit but I guess it also helps keep any debris/lint/whatever from the bottom of the case out of the joint/screws/etc.

Joint up on butts, tip down on shafts.

Ditto that Snapshot9. Most people (as do I) wipe the chalk off the tips before inserting - keeping a build-up from occuring and inhibit staining. Also, since my case does not have much cushioning, I crumpled small pieces of paper and placed in the holes.

Depends on the case. I have two, a Porper 2x4 and a Whitten 2x4. Porper=joint down, tips down. Whitten=joint up, tips down.
Forgot I also have a Fellini. Joint up, tips down, and I asked the guy who made it {whose name escapes me} how it was intended. There has been a lot of debate about this, so I called or emailed him, I forget now, years ago.

Joints on butt end were down and I hated it, I got a new case while in Vegas for APA and now joints for both ends are up.
