Would anyone else like to see a One Pocket Forum

One hole is my favorite game but I would say no one pocket on AZ. Reason being onepocket.org is no bullshi!t for the most part. It is just the game and the shots/strategies of the game. I think if it were a section here it would just be full of arguments and useless threads.

Myself, I prefer onepocket.org - no need for a 1 pocket forum here.

As far as no bullshitt, the straight pool forum here is 100% no bullshitt. I don't even think that Mike has a moderator assigned to our forum. We really don't need one.

There are absolutely no problems over there - there never have been any problems in almost a year and a half of its existence. It's just a flow of information, learning and discussion that has the participation of John Schmidt, Danny Harriman, Nick Vandenberg, Ray Martin, Bob Jewett, Steve Lipsky - as well as many top players that lurk anonymously on a daily basis. Everybody is over there to learn, and its a great environment.

I appreciate the participation of everybody that has made the straight pool forum a success.

Leave one pocket at onepocket.org - Steve runs a great site over there - as well as a great forum!

Thanks for the kind words, all

There is a great deal of cross-over between the members of OnePocket.org and AZ. There is certainly no need to feel like as a player, you need to choose whether to focus your energy over here or over there. AZ has the advantage of many more members, but 1P has a more specialized mission.

Of course this is Steve Booth speaking, but I do think Onepocket.org is a good site to support, by joining, contributing posts, and supporting the One Pocket Hall of Fame. It is a fairly unique effort in support of a minority game, and every month, does seem to bring in many new inquiries about the game. For example, there is a basic One Pocket "primer" under the link Getting Started, that receives hundreds of new views every month, and every one who reads that should get a good solid feel for the basic principles of the game, right out of the box.

Also, I'm pretty sure that OnePocket.org was the original internet conduit for some of AZ's favorite knowledgeable and entertaining posters -- they were introduced to OnePocket.org, and through us, to AZ. Of course, that works both ways, too -- which is something that both Mike H and I are both aware of and both appreciate. "It's all good," as my son and his friends might say.

The OnePocket.org forum will never be as active as a big forum like AZ, but it is really only as active as *you all* make it, which seems to ebb and flow. But you are all welcome to drop in, and I look forward to exploring new ways to work with AZ to promote our sport -- of course One Pocket, but even for me it is not just about the welfare of One Pocket -- I feel pretty safe speaking for both Mike and I that we both firmly share the desire to see the whole sport grow.

That is a whole lot of pool data and history to be gleaned from the OnePocket.org website, i.e., the interviews, news archives, Hall of Fame.

I have found the OnePocket.org very valuable when I am looking up dates and name spellings: http://www.onepocket.org/records.htm

It is nice that somebody took the time to gather up all this and make a record for pool. Thanks, OnePocket.org.

Hey, is that Billy Incardona I see that was inducted into the Hall of Fame this year?

Billy or, I should say, "wincardona," you're going to have to give up a little something, come this October, my friend, since you're now a Hall of Famer! :winknudge:

Steve, your site is great and to be honest I found AZBilliards through your site and I am glad to have both of these sites in my favorites.I think all pool sites are good for the game and believe that everyone needs to find their internet home room to hang out in.I appreciate having the oppurtunity to contribute to your site and hope down the road I can do more for the great game of one pocket and www.onepocket.org . :bow-down:

But, if AZ Forums had a one pocket section, it could only be positive for the game. It would get more people involved in it and create more participants for all.

I like the idea. :D

Ray

Same here. Good idea.
