All things being equal, would you rather:
A) Play a better player getting the appropriate weight to make it even.
B) Play a lesser player giving the appropriate weight to make it even?
Just to clarify, Easy is referring to gambling.
I find it wholly unbelievable that any of us have a concept of "all things".
Blam.
All things being equal, would you rather:
A) Play a better player getting the appropriate weight to make it even.
B) Play a lesser player giving the appropriate weight to make it even.
But if you're choosing B because your better play by giving up weight will tilt the match to your side, then that would violate the requirement of an even match.Yup. I find I will play better if I'm giving the weight.
Having a little more confidence would be a good reason alone to choose B over A, even if the matches are theoretically completely even. All other things being equal, I'd rather play with confidence than not. Confidence feels good. It's also nice to know that you're simply the better player.Knowing I am the better player gives me a little more confidence.
I guess some people are taking my wording a bit too literal, my fault. This wasn't meant to be a philosophical debate. How about this:
Get a ball from a guy who plays a ball better than you?
OR
Give a ball to a guy who plays a ball worse than you?
I'd rather play the better player. More sense of accomplishment if I actually pull it off.
