Would you send a cue to someone you do not know without them first paying for it?

With the right person vouching for him, I would. Basically that person would pay me if the buyer didn't.

Without that kind of safety net... no.

It's not that I think the buyer is totally out of line. It's completely reasonable to want to try before you buy. That's a smart thing to do before committing money. But if I'm too far away for him to drive over and check it out, then we just chalk it up to bad luck... we happen to be located too far apart to make try-before-you-buy work. So the sale just won't take place unless he wants to take a leap of faith.

If you wanted to send it to me instead, I am a Nigerian prince looking for ways to get monies into the US. If you send me the cue first, along with your bank account information, it would cover the costs of very many monies transfers in excess of $263,643 to your US bank account. I would then ask for only $200,000 when I enter the country as payment, so you obviously would make many monies.

Given the way you explained it and it being clear you do not know the person? Absolutely not, not even a question TBH. Anyone who thinks you would send the cue before payment is nuts and is as likely as not just trying to rip you off.

only with people i know well, or buyers that are beyond reproach. I can think of about 10 people that I'd send a cue to before getting paid and not sweat it.

Personally no. It's your friends call your selling for tho.

I ask him to send collateral, you send the cue, he sends the payment and extra to get his collateral back.

Reminds of the ongoing joke... "Can I hold a hunnit?"

He says the deal is off now. Of course it is.
Without a doubt he was planning on burning you for it.

It has been done many times on AZ but under different circumstances.
There are many very trustworthy sellers and buyers on here.

That one stunk to high heaven. And don't feel guilty for your feelings on this one.

It saved you having to start another Rip Off thread.

The simple answer is no. There are a few on here I would do it for and not think twice.

Maybe that is why I have been screwed over so much in my life though.:(

Look for another buyer. No way I'm sending the cue before the cash arrives or is escrow. It would be like paying a guy to build your house cash before he even gets started.

again...

I stayed away as much as I could of this thread as the OP refers to ME. I couldn't resist tho...
I am the one who asked him to send the cue first. I have a rule and I don't care if any of the posters here agree or disagree with but : I WON'T PAY FOR A CUE SOLD BY A USER WITH AN ITRADER LOWER THAN MINE, BEFORE SEEING THE MERCHANDISE! I did it before and I was screwed...you won't guess by whom and I won't give you names as I did justice already and I care less.
Right now 2 of the most respectable sellers around here sent me a cue and awaits my payment tomorrow. They didn't raise a finger to anything just did what they thought it's right regarding my rep around here. I appreciate them and many others.

As I previously said I hate ignorance and this forum is full of it. If the sh-t doesn't hit the fan by itself somebody will throw it in.

So be free of adding NO's to this thread and sell your cues to whoever pays before seeing....I WON"T!

Have a good one and Merry Christmas to all!

This poll doesn't have enough choices. I have sent out 3 cues in the past when I was a newer member here with low itrader. The members I sent cues to first had great itrader and I sent pm's to other member's that they did business with and never had one problem except on my end on one cue that I fixed immediately. I have received about 5-6 cues before payment or trade (2 recently) also from members with low itrader with no problems. I give them my address at home and work and any other info they need to feel comfortable. I've had more problems with deals that I've sent money first before I got the cue. Now, if a new-ish member with no/low itrader wanted me to send cue first, that's a no brainer.
