With the right person vouching for him, I would. Basically that person would pay me if the buyer didn't.
Without that kind of safety net... no.
It's not that I think the buyer is totally out of line. It's completely reasonable to want to try before you buy. That's a smart thing to do before committing money. But if I'm too far away for him to drive over and check it out, then we just chalk it up to bad luck... we happen to be located too far apart to make try-before-you-buy work. So the sale just won't take place unless he wants to take a leap of faith.
