Would you watch a random guy on IG play pool?

Thinking about going live and just posting live videos of myself playing pool. Kind of like a guy with a fishing show.

Would anyone be interested with such a thing? There are a few people at my pool hall that already does this but no viewers. Just their inner circle or their parents.

Like if you get a notification would you click and watch me randomly shoot pool? You would will get to also see my interactions with people.

My interest level would be based on what you are playing, how well you play and how entertaining you are. I think the entertainment part is big. I could watch Earl Strickland all day but get bored of a slower, more deliberate player within a couple minutes, no matter how well he/she plays.

Instagram is more for short content. But people definitely will watch pool/ billiards videos on there.

I edit break and run videos down to about 60 seconds and average several thousand views per post.

I don't really want to edit and post videos.

I just want to randomly turn on the camera live and start shooting pool.

Thanks. Maybe I do it on youtube instead.

There's a lot of people on the Billiards Reddit that post their runouts, or at least attempts. Some of them are pretty good players, some of them are crap and just have no experience about the real game and think that because they're goofing around with a buddy at a pool table somebody wants to see it. There is already so much pool out there to watch from Pro matches to leagues streaming weekly to local tournaments that simply another person recording their games would be more useful for them and their friends then for the general population. I would definitely watch people I know play, or if it's from a pool hall that I'm going to be playing in so I can see how people play there.

There are a couple of places on AZB to post your runs. One is the ghost challenge sticky on the main forum. The other is in the 14.1 forum to show your high run attempts. I think it's better to post on YouTube than InstaGram.

YouTube makes the most sense for overall audience. There are other things like twitch but it's kind of a younger crowd. But you can go on there while sketching, cooking, sewing, etc and they pretty much react and chat with the audience the whole time. It's kind of fun because you can ask them a question, like what spin you used, what were you thinking about during a miss etc.

Think interesting video game streamer (not the annoying pewdipie kind) but you get to chat while they play.

You can also livestream on both at the same time.

Postup has a good livestream setup. They often have "friday night fights" on there where they tv stream a gambling match. It may be any game, I've seen them go from $15 up to $750 on there. It's cool because sometimes they match up wildly different players with spots, but it was because they wanted to test themselves and gamble.

Some people really bitch about seeing the "commentators" in the booth, but it's literally them commenting a pool game and chatting with the folks in chat about anything, it's their online community. It's naturally usually about pool but they would probably talk about mac and cheese if you asked what kind was their favorite.

To be honest, not interested in watching some unknown when there are tons of great video available. I like to watch old matches too. While some of the video isn't great I suggest you watch the "Legends" matches, particularly UJ Puckett and Minnesota Fats playing. Great entertainment!

If you can entertain, if you can set up two way communication with your audience, these things might make your videos a success. Otherwise, I think your videos will be lost in the thousands already running. Live broadcasting has inevitable dull air time. Got to keep people entertained or they will wander off.

I wish you success if you try this but unless you are a young scantily clad bimbo I would say you are a long shot!
