Yes, I sell chalk here on AZB, some of you might now that. My ad stays that if you want notification of mailing, then put email address in the notes section of your PayPal. If you don't need the info, no worries, the chalk will be there in about 5 days.

So, at work, I see a message on AZB because I always scan AZB for a few minutes each day at work. Guy says he was never notified of his chalk, and that he wants to know what is going on. Of course, I'm write here on AZB and not hard to find.

Now, he orders the chalk on January 11th. Today is only the 16th (five days if you count like me) But being MLK day, PO is closed, so rational human beings might just think it will be there tomorrow.

Anyways, I responded back that he did not include an email and thus could not respond back with his delivery status. But if he sends me his city/state I will check when I get home.

He writes back, BULL SH@T, he's has used PayPal and never had a problem before?
Well, technically, it's not a problem, he just ordered it a few days ago. But sure, i'll check when I get home. yep, there is the email, plain as day, with NO email address, and no AZB name.

I have way too many orders to pull up my PayPal account, and scroll through each and every transaction to find an email, (there is a lot) thus why I tell folks to include it on your payment, so when then it's in my inbox and I can send you tracking info. Most folks don't want tracking info for chalk, but I'll give it to folks that want it. And if you don't want to, no worries, chalk will be there in 5 days.

So, no big deal, he should be a happy camper when I get home to tell him where the chalk is?

Nope, by the time I get home, he's already filed a complaint with PayPal for Non delivered item (five days after he made the purchase)

Not a $2K cue, but $7 chalk, that he purchased 5 days ago ??

yes, I know it's only one jerk off per every 1000 AZB'ers I deal with, but it's that one that just sticks in your craw :p

I'll take no email rather than the 4-5 emails I usually get when I order something online. You're a victim of the expectations created by other retailers.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head. I'm like you, I don't need a bunch of emails for stuff I ordered. I wait a week, and more times than not, it's here.

AS I'm typing this my new OB shaft via arrived via UPS for my new Pete Omen SP cue. Patience is a virtue that many folks do not possess ;)

I agree. I sell a good amount of items every year and I rarely add tracking information because its simply time consuming for inexpensive items. Now if its something over $100 or more then I add it or if its requested. I save all my shipping receipts so if an issue arises I just go look at them according to date and zip code. I also always say 5-7 business days for it to ship out that way when it arrives sooner they are happy. Some people lack patience but I do try and ship out once a week.

You are obviously someone hell bent on getting that dudes $7. And giving him chalk, in exchange.

I will be watching you.

Maybe he thought shipping was Magical as well. Damn it RJ break out that wand man!

What'ya think? RJ Is Running Some Pyramid Scheme With Chalk.....

This is absolutely the dumbest. most stupid gripe I've read about in the last decade.

Let start with the fact RJ and I have disagreed and banged heads about chalk in the past.

So it's not like the two of us are best buds and I'm here to defend my pal or his reputation.

This is just absurd.......RJ is honest, trustworthy, credible, and sincere.....and for the less
than the price of a Subway sandwich he's going to try to get rich and rip off one of his
customers for one box of chalk or disrespect them by bullshitting about its likely delivery?

This person is a fool.......regular US Mail isn't delivered on a Sunday and when a Federal
Holiday occurs on a Sunday, it is honored the following day which means no regular mail
gets delivered. This also means that on the next normal business day, mail resumes and
now has to handle Monday's undelivered mail plus Tuesday's normal mail.

Okay, what does that mean? Some mail might be late and not arrive on Tuesday due to the
cumulative volume. Can you imagine what this irate customer would think and act like then?
This guy needs to lighten up and stop acting like he was mistreated & had a legitimate gripe.

RJ......sometimes in life you cannot avoid grief no matter how hard you try to duck and dodge
.
This is one of those moments but rest assured, your need not be concerned about it. In fact,
how about this.....I'll buy a box of your chalk and you can send it by snail mail and it can show
up any time before I expire. And if that happened, then double the order and send it to my kids.

Thanks Matt, just seems odd what will set folks off. He has since come back and apologized for over reacting when I sent his PayPal notification that did not have his email on it. and he advised he did not read my full ad. And thought because he posted in my "for sale" thread, I would know who he was ?? I don't read my thread, i just bump it and wait for PalPay notification, then my son packs it and brings it to the PO, every few days, he brings the orders from the past 2 days.

RJ, this is exactly why I tell everyone that purchases from me, NOT to send the money as a gift. As long as PayPal gets their fee, I believe that not only do you get a discount on shipping, if you're doing your own shipping labels via PayPal...but the buyer also receives tracking information/shipping notification from PayPal as well. Well worth it, IMO.
Best regards.

People will lose their mind over less that $7.00! I used to service self-serve car washes and was nearly assaulted a few times by someone who was upset that they lost $1.00 or $1.50 in a wash bay or vacuum they claimed was not working! I always had a pocket full of quarters so it was no big deal to hook someone up if they were even half way nice about it!

Any reasonable person would realize that it's businesses days that count. The 16th was not the 5th business day.

YELP!

Ever seen the South Park episode about YELP?

Yup.

RJ, I feel for ya. Some people are absolute freaking morons. We all know that the buyer is reading this thread and he/she also must know realize that they are a total asshat.

5 days to expect an item to be shipped and received is ridiculous. I did get my chalk from ya in a few days but you are not in control of how long it takes. I guess you are liable if USPS does not get it there overnight now. I'd mark this buyers name and never sell to them again.. JMHO

Just another reason......

Bernie Maidoff selling chalk on AZ.... :) I have had similar issues and heard of people collecting on postage that they didn't even pay for, when USPS didn't get it there on time...

Sorry to hear about your issue with a customer. I assume by your policy that you have, that you do not use paypal shipping service, and print your shipping labels out through paypal. Have you ever thought about using paypal shipping service? It is very easy, and Tracking comes free with the 1st class mail postage. If you were to do business this way, then all of your customers would get an email from paypal as soon as you printed out their shipping label. This also saves you a trip to the post office, and I think it may give you a little bit of a discount on the 1st class mail postage. All you need is a computer, a printer, and a good quality digital weight scale. Doing business this way also proves to paypal that you did in fact mail the customer their order. You may have an easier way of mailing your chalk out though, and if you get tons of orders, then I can understand why you may not want to have to go through the trouble of printing out all of those shipping labels through paypal. I used to sell a lot of DVD's (back when there was a better market for them, before netflix and redbox got really big and killed the DVD market), and that is how I always did business (through paypal's shipping service).
